I don't see a canning date, but I received it about 2 week ago. I wonder if it's a little old as the smell is rather muted. It has a beautiful color with a little head left after the pour. At only 5.7% abv, it's lighter than my usual favorite double IPAs. That said, it's easy going down and full of flavor. The mouthfeel is super soft. I just drank a Master of Oranges prior to this, and now I wish I started with the lighter beer as I wonder if the double ruined my pallet a bit. I get some orange and a perfect level of bitterness, but the flavors are more muted than my absolute favorite regular NEIPAs at this abv level. Still, I'd buy again without hesitation.

Vibrant cloudy orange with a short-lived, creamy-looking white head that leaves thick lacing. Creamy orange aroma. Surprisingly watery tasting with watered-down creamy orange flavors coupled with a hint of toast and marmalade bitterness. Relatively full bodied with light fizzy carbonation. Tastes like a solid New England APA.

Pours an opaque orange with a finger of white foam that retains well (half pour from can). Head retention is good. Aroma is orange marmalade, papaya, grapefruit and peanuty malts. Aroma is sweet, with a lot of tropical fruit residual sugar ringing out in each whiff. The orange marmalade cools down a little and settles into more of a fleshy, ripe orange aroma as the beer warms. Flavor profile is orange, tangerine, papaya and grapefruit with thin peanuty malts behind it. There is a kiss of yeast, but it doesn't make much of an impression. Hop notes are light and compact. Mouth feel is fuzzy and fizzily that edges up to a pillowy-soft texture, but breaks apart just prior. Consistency is medium. Overall, a very light IPA that puts citrus and tropical fruits first with a controlled approach.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegalau tulip from a 16oz can.

Pours like a neipa, hazy pineapple juice with a nice white head. Tropical , bright fruits dominate the aroma. Pineapple, tangerine, some ripe papaya. Really juicy taste. Sweet orange, pineapple, lemon zest, and a nice , if weak, grapefruit bitterness in the back. Mouthfeel is a highlight. A surprisingly smooth medium+ body is balanced against a lively brightness. It's a fantastic beer, esp in cold weather

2 month old can

Pours hazy orange, white head, great two finger head retention, sticky lacing.

Aromas of sweet oranges, tangerines, sweet pineapple and candied tropical fruits.

Taste follows the nose although is not that sweet. There are some melon, lime and red grapefruit notes too. Lots of flavour for such low abv.

Mouthfeel is surprisingly creamy for a 5,7% beer, smooth and medium bodied.

Great beer.

Pours a hazy peach like you'd probably expect from this beer/style/brewery with a smallish head that leaves a ring for the duration. Nose is certainly orange along with some powdered sugar and maybe a little pineapple hiding in the back. Taste is not nearly as good. The predominant flavor is grapefruit pith, not the fruit or zest. With this style, there isn't really much of a malt backbone, so there isn't much else going on beside pith...maybe a touch of that powdered sugar and a bit of dankness. As it warms, an off flavor starts to come through, especially in the finish. Not juicy, which was really surprising. Not bad, but disappointing considering the hype. Won't purchase again considering the sky high price tag.

L- The beer pours and opaque The head is 2 fingers of slightly off white foam. As the head recedes the lace clings to the sides in great quantity.
S- The nose is a mix of orange and tangerine which becomes evident the moment the can is popped.
T- On the palate the beer is less sweet than the nose implies. Overall I'd say the beer leans just slightly to the bitter pithy side. Orange and tangerine flavors here are outshone by the pith, but makes the beer quite drinkable.
F- Mouthfeel overall is a solid medium. Carbonation after the initial pour is light.
O- A nicely drinkable single IPA at a somewhat sessionable 5.7%. Packs more than enough flavor to satisfy. Recommended.

From can picked up at Aslin the day before.

Beautiful orange yellow opaque color with good bit of foam head upon aggressive pour. Juicy and tropical aroma burst from the glass. Solid juicy flavors as well with a medium mouthfeel (which is good for a pale ale). This packs a very good amount of flavor into such a light (5.7% abv) pale ale.

Posted a cloudy yellow-orange body with minimal head and no lace down the glass. Aroma has minimal sweetness with an earthy hoppiness to it. The beer has a sharp acidity to it in a light, juicy body, mix of citric and even lemon/orange sharpness, with a pineapple juice (almost tropical fruit) sweetness and sharp/sweet finish.

Appearance: Pours a murky honey color with a thick head that sticks nicely and leaves clumpy lacing

Smell: Tangerine, melon and pith

Taste: Melon forward, with tangerine building; pithy, through the middle, and a relatively dry, dank finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body but overly carbonated

Overall: Not the most distinctively juicy NEIPA I have tasted from Aslin; OK, but by comparison it suffers

Thanks, Slack, for the opportunity

Moderate pour yields a full one inch white head over a cloudy golden body with some sticky lacing. Nose of sweet citrus (orange, ruby red grapefruit.) Taste of orange, orange zest, and orange pith in that order. Very nice feel in that it's a juice bomb very well carbonated. Overall, one of their best. Cheers!

Of all the NEIPA’s I’ve had, this murky, muddy yellow beer has the most earthy hiding under the faint orange taste, leaving behind only a hint of like mineral water taste or something in a mighty dry finish. The nose is pretty brilliant with some spicy hops that lean orange, piney and sandy or earthy.

Looks like a NEIPA, so it looks like it's supposed to. Can't dock them too much. Dammit.
Lots of citrus! Like someone is zesting a variety of citrus fruits into a glass!
Saturated hop flavor, lots of citrus, nothing else.
Pretty dang drinkable
Probably the best NEIPA I've had since I got bored of NEIPAs

Most of the recent NEIPAs I've had have been DIPAs, but Orange Starfish reminds me that single IPAs can be every bit as incredible as DIPAs. Pure orange/grapefruit/mango deliciousness with just the right amount of bitterness for balance.

Got a bunch to try from this brewery thanks to Drew. No can date.

Pours a decent bubbly foamy 1/2 finger head that fades at a med pace, very little lacing, super murky milk-shake orange color

Nose is quite nice, starts with citrus, orange juice, soft clementine, into pith, then mango sherbet, puree, more tropical notes with a hint of pineapple, some grapefruit, touch of a creamy malt

Taste brings more citrus, plenty of it, loads of orange juice, orange cream, mango puree, mango sherbet, a bit more pineapple and tropical fruit notes, some pith, spicy rind later, soft creamy malts, wheat/oat combination, finishes a bit spicier and sharper with more rind and fair bitterness.

Mouth is med bod, soft creamy, fluffy carb

Overall a pretty well done NEIPA for sure, very soft juicy and delicious, well done hop profile, drinkable af, I could pound this back easily. Next is the double version of this so I'm excited for that.

The cloudy peach colored beer pours out from an undated can into a Duvel glass with a 1/2” creamy white head that recedes slowly (but never totally disappears) and at first leaving little lacing on the sides of the glass. However as the beer is sipped down a solid sheet of foam is left on one side of the glass. Sipping creates some web-like patches and legs of lacing.

The aromas include some pine and some citrus (orange zest) with some tropical fruits such as mango and pineapple mixed in and blending well with the rest.

The flavors are much as expected from the nose with the orange zest and pine notes almost upfront but nicely blended in with the tropical fruits that are definitely there and not concealed a bit. There doesn’t seem to be much sweetness from the malt except in the background as a counterbalance to the well-controlled citric, piney bitterness that provides a nice counter balance to the fruit flavors.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and quite smooth with the gentle carbonation. The finish begins as the fruit flavors recede to leave the piney, citric bitterness to close out the long, slightly dry ending that still allows just a touch of sweetness to show almost to the dry, bitter ending.

For my first NEIPA this seems to me to be a well made beer that I'd be willing to have again. It's full of lots of hop aromas and flavors that play well together and leave one wanting another sip.

Impossible to pick apart anything about this beer: an absolute delight in every respect. Reminded me of Tree House Julius when it was small batch, growler only, pre-cans: never been the same since.
I'm hoping my local watering hole hasn't tapped out yet so I can get another taste.
