L — Pours a golden straw body with some haze and two fingers of solid white head produced with moderate pour. Great retention and lacing
S — Dank citrus, pineapple, sweet maltiness, floral, orange sorbet
T — Got that east coast/west coast interplay here. Lots of aggressive citrus hop character rounded out by a semi-sweet malt backbone that has just a touch of caramel character to it. Moderate bitterness throughout, but not overwhelming or stomach acid-like
F — Medium+ mouthfeel, medium carb. More crisp and heady than some other Aslin IPAs, but not in a bad way

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a hazy gold color with a coarse, off-white head. Initial impression is pineapple, mango, a touch of caramel, orange rind, and pine resin. Mouthfeel is perfect. Finish is not exactly sweet, not exactly bitter, not overly carbonated - but it has perfectly balanced elements of all of the above. This is an excellent, excellent NEIPA - just about as good as it gets!

Serving: Can
No date (Consumed Apr-24)

It pours a cloudy yellow-orange with a finger+ of off-white head.  Good retention;  speckled rings of lacing. (4.25)

Citrus, weed, herbal bite. (4.25)

Wow! Big ripe mango flavors, orange creamsicle, papaya, mamey. (4.5)

Smooth, creamy, sweet, well-hidden alcohol. (4.25)

Very nice beer!
Pours very nice, inviting in the glass. The aroma is pretty straightforward citrus to me. The flavor, though, is big and sweet with lots of tropical fruit and a creamy, rich mango-mamey flavor that is very enjoyable. The feel follows, with the creamy, juicy feel that you want from a beer like this with A suggestion of alcohol. A very enjoyable beer. I'd have it again. (4.5)

Poured an orange body with minimal head and lace. Mildly bitter, veggie-like citric aroma with some tropical fruit notes. Smooth beer, full body, with balance between lovely citric bitterness and tropical fruit-like sweetness.

L: Poured from a growler to a snifter glass. Had a deep, dark orange color and a thick, hazy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Excellent lacing.

S: A sweet and enticing aroma of hops, citrus fruit, tropical fruit, pine, and malt.

T: Tasted of a mild amount of malt (mostly in the finish), a hint of pine (just enough), a good shot of hops (not overdone), lots of citrus fruit (oranges), and lots of tropical fruit (mango, pineapple). A extremely sweet and fruity flavor that gets better as you go along. It's light and vibrant - everything you expect an NE IPA to be. Delicious.

F: A well-carbonated beer with a lively finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A wholly enjoyable NE IPA. Drinkable.

Murky orange thing with not too much head. Nose is mostly candied citrus of some sort with a trailing edge of garlic. Taste reverses for just a moment with a garlicky open that morphs into a mix of grapefruit, pineapple and sweetness. Finishes a bit bitter and dry.

Hazy bright orange color. Looks great.

Nose is a bit muted but taste has a ton of tropical fruits pine and citrus in the taste. A really good DIPA although the nose was a bit lighter than I expected.

Appearance: orange with a tint of brown. Totally hazy. This reminds me of OJ with a couple of tablespoons of coffee mixed in, or OJ that is far past fresh. The head is 1-finger that fades quickly to a collar.

Aroma: super-fresh hops manifesting as pineapple and fresh pine / pine resin backed by light sweet malt.

Flavor: super-fresh hops combined with a coffee or mocha off-taste. The hops don’t have any standout distinctive flavors. Light alcohol taste in the finish.

Mouthfeel: heav(ier)-medium. Creamy. Mildly spicy in the finish.

Overall: good but not great. These hops are not super flavorful, and combined with the coffee taste, this is shy of next level caliber. The flavor doesn’t keep pace with the aroma. Given the hype surrounding Aslin’s IPAs, this one falls short. It is good, yet a disappointment by comparison to the hype.

Pours a little on the murky side of hazy with a medium head that had good lace. Nose isn't as big as I expected, but still has nice mixed tropical fruits and citrus. Taste is fairly juicy with the same mixed tropical fruit and citrus, but also some garlic and onion in there. Overall a solid beer, but for the price, it needs to be better than this.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Murky orange bodied, opaque and a bit still. Large fluffy and topped three finger white head, with cheeks and clumps of light lacing to match along the glass. Good thick bubbly collar and puck while drinking.

Real nice soft hop aroma. Touches herbal and tropical fruit, with a touch of dank earth. Juicy earth pineapple almost mango, with a light sweetness and good herbal mint flavor. Neutral malt presence and a real good hop character.

Creamy bodied and full of excellent flavor. Rich light candy, with a bitter green mint mix of pineapple and light tropical hop blast. Excellent minty finish and touches of almost dank earthy tones make for a full richer tasting expereinces as well. Excellent mouthfeel, giving to chewy textures but also real easy and light bodied somehow for easy drinking.

Very well done IPA.

Poured from can into tulip glass

Pours a pleasing opaque, dark orange color. Slight head that dissipated quickly.
Smell is of citrus - orange - and berries.
Taste is very nice. The citrus is certainly present, along with some slight bitter orange rind and hops.
Fairly heavy bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, I'm enjoying this beer. It's got a decent balance for me between the fruit and bitter, hoppy notes. Is a result, it's refreshing and not just like drinking juice.

Huge thanks to my man Erik...who just got into brew and has now hit every worthy brewery this fine country has to offer...and Aslin was a recent stop on his journey. Thanks for sharing all the brews bud! Not sure on the age on this one, I know he went a few weeks ago so take it with a grain of salt.

Fairly malty backbone. Nice hop, but super earthy...surprised this is a double. Even at a few weeks one wouldn't expect this to be so malty unless that was the intention. Good, not great. Nice flavor but a bit too heavy on the earthiness.

Cloudy, vibrant orange juice color with a fat finger of bright white head. Excellent webbed lacing.

Delicious aroma of oranges, light grapefruit and pineapple. Very citrusy, but with a creamy tropical character. There's some light herbal and piney notes behind that.

Juicy taste with creamy OJ up front, and then a weird backend with some earthy tea, herbs and maybe even a little mint pushing through.

Full bodied and creamy feeling with just enough carbonation.

My second one from these guys where the taste is fine, but doesn't live up to the superb quality of all other aspects of the beer.

Another NEDIPA, so it looks the way it's supposed: cloudy orange.
Smells very orangey, hint of mint, pine, and dank
Lots of orange, little bit of mint and pine on the finish.
Very soft, full mouthfeel. Clean finish \
If every NEIPA or whatever could pull off this flavor with this clean of a finish, I'd like them more.

No canned on date, but assumed fresh. From the 01/25/18 release?

Appearance - Pours opaque and dull orange in color with a sandstone, finger width head. Good retention, resulting in a thin, consistent layer of suds and thickening up around the edges.

Smell - I'm not getting much out of the nose. A bit of pineapple acidity. Hints of mango and orange. A fair amount of yeast.

Taste - Moderate juiciness. Mellow tropical notes of mango, pineapple and melon. Faint orange. Yeasty, bready undertone. The finish lingers with a bit of orange and pineapple acidity.

Mouthfeel - On the fuller side of medium-bodied with moderate, tingly carbonation. Firm, silky texture with a crisp, slightly dry finish.

Overall - This is a good, solid hazy DIPA, but I'm not sold on the mellow flavors. I guess I'm nitpicking because it's pretty tasty, but I wouldn't put it on my 'must-have' list.

Pours a very cloudy deep gold color with a frothy off white 3 finger head.

Aroma has pineapple notes up front with grapefruit zest. Fairly pungent and foretells great things.

Taste... holy crap this is great! fresh fruit sweet like sipping the juice out of a tropical fruit cup. Ripe pineapple and blackberry, orange and grapefruit. There is a moderate malt base that comes through as a rich sweetness. It is a little sticky on the lips too. The finish is still fruity.

Feel is smooth and creamy with a little alcohol burn in the finish.

Oh my this was a surprise! Never had a beer like this one despite many many NEIPAs. The fact they can hid 8.1% and some malt behind such a grand fruit hops flavor is amazing. Aslin - I really loved your stuff before but this was a true treat. Thanks!

16oz can poured into a tulip
Canned 9/19/17

A- pours a murky golden orange color with a one-finger foamy white head that retains long after the pour, leaving some lacing behind

S- aroma bursts with tropical hops; pineapple, mango, grapefruit, melon and pine. Just a hint of cracker malt

T- tropical hop flavor follow the nose with a burst of pineapple and mango up front, along with melon, grapefruit zest and orange, the pine is more prominent in the flavor. The finish gives some slightly sweet bread malt and lingers of more tropical hops

M- medium-heavy body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns creamy into the finish, just a hint of abv warmth

O- juicy and tropical with just a hint of malty backbone, high drinkability

Looks like a classic NEIPA - bright yellow, turbid, and with a frothy white head. Dank aromas mixed with tropical fruit and berries. The taste was dank-forward with loads of berries, pineapple, pine, and resin. It works well for me. Bready malt in the background. Soft feel and clean finish.

Near picture perfect appearance for the style, this pours completely opaque dark orange. It actually looks to me like liquid caramel in a glass topped off with a big fluffy pillow if a head. That pillow put up a fight before it started to settle back in. Excellent retention and lacing.

Initial burst of pineapple is met up quickly by it's good friends mango and orange. It's a tropical party in this vessel. A hint of wet forest pine completes the picture.

Crazy amount of mango, and I don't usually do this, but I have to reflect on the feel of this at the same time, as it feels like I'm drinking a dense and fresh mango puree. And odd that I mentioned a caramel appearance as it does seem to have a slightly sweet caramel taste as well. Licking the foam off my lips, a pithy feel and bitterness lingers on.

This is my first Aslin beer, and as I've gained more experience of this style through some of the big boys offerings, Aslin should be put into that circle. This may be the densest, creamiest beer like this that I've had, and the aroma and flavor ain't too shabby either. Cheers, and thank you Craig!

Pretty much what I was anticipating - cloudy orange haze, tropical/citrus aroma and flavor - but the 8.1% abv comes through in the flavor in a surprising way. Would be much better otherwise. Hopefully my experience with my other can is better.

Edit after second can - I drank this one much warmer (even warmer than I drink most DIPAs) and the alcohol was much less noticeable. Either that or it had mellowed out after two weeks in the fridge.

From a can dated 9/19/17

L - A very hazy orangish/tan with a solid off-white head. The Head has long retention and nice lacing.

S - Tons of citrus - orange, grapefruit, and some nice tropical notes.

T - Lots of tropical flavors like pineapple and mango. There is a small malt balance in there also. The citrus is less dominate. There is a bit of a spicy note on the finish.

F - Very full and thick mouthfeel with medium/high carbonation.

O - Another very nice NEIPA from Aslin.
