Can: Poured a cloudy orangey color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy and grapefruit hoppy undertones with light tropical fruit notes. Taste is also a mix of tropical notes with some citrusy and grapefruit notes with a somewhat spicy finish. Body is full with good carbonation. Solid NEIPA but subtle spicy finish didn’t work with me.

No canned on date, but assumed fresh

Appearance - Pours opaque with haze, dull orange with an off-white, finger width head. Good retention results in a thin, broken layer of suds and thin ring around the edge of the glass. Lacing exhibits broken webbing, lines and spotting.

Smell - Strong aromatics. Super juicy notes of Mango, pineapple, orange, grapefruit and guava.

Taste - Follows the nose. Pure juice bomb. Mango, guava and pineapple upfront before some citrus bitterness kicks in. Hints of bready malts sit beneath. The finish is light orange pith with a healthy helping of acidic pineapple bite.

Mouthfeel - On the fuller side of medium-bodied with low, tingly carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a mostly dry finish and it leaves a slight burn in the throat.

Overall - Simply fantastic. This is right up there with the best NE-Style IPA's I've had to date. Trade for it if you can. This one's well worth it.

A big thanks goes out to Craig for this one.

Master of Karate isn't pretty to look at, for all. The completely opaque and burnt orange liquid looks kissed with drops of brown, and despite a heavy hand, the frothy, just-off-white cap only creeps up to a one finger coverage. However, the Sensei manages to fight for lacing dominance on the glass from head to toe.

This is very interesting with elements of unripened tropical fruits, toasted peanuts, rubber, and grapefruit. I don't think I've ever smelled a combination like this. It attacks from everywhere, as any master should.

Wow. Just saying mango, pineapple, and guava like fruits don't really put it into perspective. The feel is almost necessary to include here, as it really is like a liquified smoothie. Some vegetal flavors blend in with a mild burnt taste on the finish.

I'm not usually a fan of the overly creamy IPA's, but this might be an exception. It works very well with these flavors, and it is rediculously creamy. It's smooth and 'juicy' while still having a good bitter bite in the end. The alcohol shows itself a tad with some warmth, but not a flaw here at all.

I can express the same sentiments as above for my overall experience. This is a good and fun beer. I can see why it is on a long list of people's wants as it was a pleasure to enjoy. Thanks again Craig. Cheers!

Got this in a trade a little more than a month ago and it was frozen upon receiving. Doesn’t matter. Loooks, smells, tastes, feels, amazing. Love it! Wish I had more!

Another one thanks to Drew. No can date

Light fizzy bubbly 1/2 finger head fades at a med pace, not bad for the abv, a very murky almost milk-shake solid orange color

Nose plenty of citrus and stone fruit, big juicy pineapple especially as it warms, a little orange cream, apricot and a little peach, mango notes, papaya, and mild dank tropical fruits, a touch of fruity canteloupe.

Taste brings tons of pineapple out front, pineapple tropical fruit juice, some citrus tangerine and mango smoothie, mild dank resin in the background, dank tropical fruit, a little papaya and passion fruit notes, a bit of canteloupe again, and mild apricot peachy stone fruit, some creamy malt flaked oat/wheat base, a hint of alcohol warmth, drier finish, big tropical fruit citrus and pineapple lingering.

Mouth is med bod, creamy, decent fluffy carb, a touch of warming alcohol

Overall a very nice DIPA, booze hidden fairly well, juicy malt and big tropical fruit hops, tons of pineapple galaxy at it's best, big juicy beer. Great to see beers like this coming from outside of the Northeast.

Can from the brewery. I prefer the DDH version

Underwhelmed. For being 8.4% (lower than many other Aslin DIPAs) abv the alcohol comes through surprisingly aggressively. There is a good amount of tropical and citrus fruit flavor but overall the balance is not that great.

Cloudy sunshine in a bottle. Seems to peak a week or two after canned.
