L - Hazy yellow with some orange hues with an offhead head that dissipates somewhat quickly leaving behind a decent amount of lacing.
S - Tropical and pine notes - lots of orange and other citrus fruits
T - Follows the nose: piney bitter hops up front and throughout followed by orange and other citrus (some grapefruit) and tropical notes as well as some grassy notes
F - Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Rich, soft, creamy. A little less thick compared to some of their others, but not a bad thing.
O - Really fantastic NEIPA from Aslin - nice hop bitterness and tropical notes - very well balanced.

Appearance - Pours opaque orange with nice fluffy white head, lost of spotty lacing.

Aroma - Grapefruit, orange, fresh hops, pine with a hint of citrus peel.

Taste - The taste is much sweeter than I got from the nose. Pineapple, passionfruit sweet up front followed by a nice bitter hoppy finish. Well balanced flavors.

Feel - Smooth creamy medium bodied, really soft nice dry finish.

Overall - Very well done IPA, great flavors well balanced.

Picked-up two cans in a trade. No canned-on date that I can decipher. Have heard of, but never tried before, as they do not distribute to MA. This was a miss for me. Strange aftertaste, too pungent.

Poured a cloudy, yellow-orange body with large, frothy head and large lace ring down the glass. The aroma is mild, not bitter at all, but has some earthy, floral citric. Smooth, creamy, not bitter, juicy, sweet like pineapple juice (touch of acidic sharpness) with a clean finish. Clean finish and is quite enjoyable.

Pours a hazy golden, soapy white head. There's a little bit of peach on the aroma. It's mostly peach and some grapefruit. It's a little soapy in disposition. Not a lot of body. It really lacks something. Disappointing.

Great mouthfeel and look. A top tier NEIPA for me now. I like doubles more, so I give it higher marks for hitting the taste mark for me when it’s coming in at 6.7%. Don’t pass this up!

Pours a murky yellow orange with minimal head that dissipates quickly leaving above average lacing. Faint tropical fruity aroma that is slightly pungent and sweet at the same time, smells like it'd be good. Tastes of citrus, maybe orange or tangerine and some mango sweetness and not much bitterness. Mouthfeel is smooth, soft and creamy, nice carbonation, almost feels dry-ish. Overall this is a very nice, well crafted and balanced beer!

From a 16oz can, undated as best I can tell. Note: can states abv at 6.7%. Served in a spiegelau-style IPA glass.

Pours a murky, thick-appearing dull apricot colour with a finger-plus of plush, lathery head. Retention is good, leaving a thick, creamy collar and a solid curtain of lacing.

A relatively subdued nose of tropical fruit basket, tree leaves and sexy sweat. What I can smell is terrific, but it's lamentably faint.

Taste follows the nose but in reverse primacy and, thankfully, with far greater intensity. Dank, sexy sweat and bhang water, green tree leaf bitterness and then the fruit basket, big tangerine, papaya, pear and lime. Oats? Herbal, earthy and dank, more bitter than sweet, finishes with a big spruce and grapefruit peel oily zing.

Feel is smooth, oily and drying, medium-plus bodied with fine, tingly carbonation.

Really nice well-brewed NEIPA. Hits all the right notes. Feels big, not in a boozy way, but more heft and flavour than I expect under 8% abv. Good stuff.

Pours an opaque, richly dense gold color with a one finger silky off-white head. Very nice.

The pungent aroma has stone fruit notes with a touch of tropical sweetness mixed in.

The taste is surprisingly smooth and mellow with strong tangerine and nectarine notes about equally represented. Pale malt takes a back seat though the creamy mouth feel gives it the illusion of substance behind the beer. There is a just-right amount of sweetness behind this one as well.

Feel is very soft and very creamy with low bitterness and little fizz.

This is really a superior NEIPA in all categories really. So impressed with this. Keep up the great work Aslin!

L - 1.5 finger bright white head atop a shining, opaque orange body.

S - tangerine, grapefruit, pine.

T - lots of grapefruit along with some sweeter tangerine and perhaps mango. Mildly herbal middle. Very low bitterness. Medium-low sweetness. No booziness.

F - medium body and carb.

O - a perfect ipa to drink outside. Such an easy drinker, and a good one to share with non-ipa fans.

Huge aroma and flavors of citrus (orange, lemon), tropical fruits (pineapple, mango), and peach. Mouthfeel is nice and soft. My only complaint is a slight astringency - not enough to ruin the beer, but enough to be distracting.

Ugly but with a nice head.
Aromas of orange juice, citrus
Try to detach your eyes from your stomach. Not much different than a typical IPA.
I like the smoother MF. Dry finish. Medium body.

16 oz can dated 10/15 poured into a becher glass

L - Thick orange juice color with a decent amount of froth left after a sip
S - Dank and tropical mix well in here with pineapple, orange rind and grapefruit coming up
T - Just like the nose, very smooth with grapefruit, oranges and other citrus fruits dancing on the tongue
F - Full bodied flavor with no feel of alcohol. Kind of yeasty
O - I can see how this is widely loved by fans. Just wish Aslin brews didn't have that awkward yeast presence mixed in. Other than that, it was delicious.

The newer, more exotic, citronella character hops are making zombies out of all of us. And the IPA from Aslin Beer Company is no exception. Astro Zombie has us crawling mindlessly for another, and another, and yet another.

Astro Zombie pours with a strongly hazed golden and orange hue. Crowned with a creamy eggshell froth, the beer soon sheds a host of branch ripe fruit aromatics. Its fragrance spans citrus with a back note of tropical fruit, herb and tangy white wine. Sweeter on the initial taste, the malts strike first with a moderate punch of honey, fructose, light caramel and angel food cake.

As its sweetness and creaminess begin to dissolve from the middle palate, the hops shine even further, swirling about the tastebuds with the radiant succulence of mandarin orange, pink grapefruit and a hint of lemon. Following closely behind are the tropical influences of pineapple, mango and passionfruit before delving into a smooth but bitter finish of freshly chopped chive, light spruce and the grassiness of straw and hemp.

Medium bodied throughout, the beer retains a mild sweetness, just enough to keep the fruity hop impression seeming juicy and ripe even late on the palate. A medium long aftertaste of grassiness and herb resonate along with the remnants of fruit and tropical fruit peels.

Canned 3/1/17.
Moderate pour yields a 1/2 inch white head over a hazy golden straw colored body with nice lacing. Nose of some tropical fruit. Taste is where this shines with a juiciness that is on par with the best fruity IPAs. Nice feel and overall, I wish I had another!

From the bottom of the can: "ABE LINCOLN 03/01/17 14:16:55"

Appearance: The body is a light opaque yellow color with hints of a dull medium hue of orange around the edges. The head is thick and creamy, leaving good lacing on the glass.

Aroma: The aroma is very light but it has this distinct fresh herbal mint aroma. It also has this fresh cut grass aroma that battles with the mint aroma for a place in the foreground.

Taste: It has a very catty flavor with a bit of what tastes like rye. There is a touch of cedar and just a touch of tea leaf.

Mouthfeel: It has this mellow chewy character that is smooth at first and has this dry but slightly chalky finish.

Overall: It is a pretty enjoyable beer that takes a bit more of an herbal direction with a chewy texture. It isn't a very memorable beer but it is the type of beer you could just sit down and drink while eating a sandwich or something. It's not a beer I would recommend for or against but it leans on the upper edge of average.

32 oz crowler filled today at Aslin

This is what they do best and what I like most about them. Juicy, bangin' IPA that you can take to the dome. Smells great, tastes even better and mouthfeel you want to take a goddamn nap on.

L: light bronze color, mostly hazy, 2f head with nice lacing and ring

S: tropical fruits like mango guava berry and lots of earthiness, maybe some overripe orange

T: follows nose, dank but not bitter

F: medium body, light to medium carbonation, good construction and balance

O: another great ipa by aslin.

Murky but not hazy dark orange color. The nose is a musky hops with some orange behind it. The taste has a candied orange taste to it with a mildly bitter hop. Kind of a weird mix, while good it's better on paper thane excurion. Feel is full and smooth with no harsh bite. Overall a good beer but missing the big flavor punch I've come to expect from Asline.

Another incredible NE-style IPA from Aslin. Unfiltered, looks like carbonated grapefruit juice. Beautiful nose - mango, orange. Mango, orange taste with a nice grapefruit bitter finish. Super smooth mouth feel that seems to be improving in the Aslin IPAs. Bottom line - this is world class. Karate, Dunley and this one and I take Aslin over Trillium and charging right up on the heels of Tree House. If someone is making better IPAs in Virginia/Maryland, I haven't found them. DO NOT tell your friends -- keep the crowds and lines manageable.

Possibly my favorite IPA in general; incredibly easy to drink and all too flavorful at this ABV.

L: Pale orange; yellowish; hazy and opaque. Beautiful head with lovely retention.

S: Super dense tropical flavors. Really aggressive berry notes and light biscuity flavors come through.

T: Just like the nose, really pleasant fruity flavors. Malty with fruit hop flavors coming through.

F: Thick and lingering. Perfect balance of carbonation and a dense unfiltered texture.

O: Out of bounds. Out of control. Out of this world.

The beer pours a nice white head that dissipates quickly. The beer itself is a cloudy yellow and orange color and the texture resembles that of orange juice. It definitely looks really nice and very appealing.

The smell is divine. It has a very nice fruity nose that ranges from pineapple to mango to orange with a strong pine note that isn't too strong. The overall mix is a nice juicy combination that has strong pineapple notes mixed in with mango and a bit of orange. The beer also has a nice pine note topping it off but it seems to be overshadowed by the tropical fruit notes.

The taste is very good. It has the same tropical fruit juice notes such as pineapple, mango, and passion fruit. The taste ends with a nice orange and pine note that pretty acidic and a sharp contrast to the other sweeter notes. The pine note runs through the entire beer but is more present in the aftertaste.

The feel is good. The beer starts off with a nice creamy note that turns into a biting smooth one. The feel is a medium body but fall on the heavier side, which is pretty good because it reminds me of juice. The carbonation is refreshing; it's strong enough to give it a decent texture but not such that it's biting.

Overall, this is a pretty good beer and good New England Style IPA.
