Notes:
Grasshopper is the baby brother of Master of Karate. It is a Pale Ale fermented on our house yeast then hopped with Mosaic, Amarillo, & Galaxy. Notes of mango, berry, peach, & pine.

Cans from July 25th release
Hops: Mosaic, Amarillo, Galaxy
This is the 5% pale ale version of their acclaimed IIPA Master of Karate. This tastes exactly how you'd expect a smaller version of MoK to taste. There is some subtle, salty thing going on in the backend, but other than that it's a winner.

Poured from the can into a nonic pint glass.
Semi turbid looking body with a complete opaque appearance, somwhere between lemon dark gold and hints of brown. Bubbly and bleach bright white head, with shampoo like retention at three fingers with some retention.
Excellent hop forward aroma. Clean sensing and very fruity, with touches of tropical fruit, and large amounts of green herbs. Hints more mellow spice than sweet, with a neutral malt and yeast profile. Very nice hop angle.
Real nice palate. Flirts with IPA juicy character, but dials back nicely. Chewy body, with large amounts of leafy hop flavors in the mid palate, touching grass, sage, and mint flavors. Touches a little bit tropical as well but just barely flirting with mango and pineapple like flavors. Slightly bakery, green mint on the finish that really lingers.
Pretty solid tasting Pale Ale, with a touch of NEIPA qualities.

Fantastic all around beer. Although low in abv, it's brazen, sassy and bold. Perhaps, I nitpick, the beer is more hop dominant than my traditional notions of an AIPA. Nectarines, sweet citrus, and cedar aroma. It's also hazier than a DDH NeIPA bomb. No head, so negative retention.
Very light and smooth. Refreshing and quenching.
Key lime pie, slightly underripe raspberry...a good contrast between contrived citrus sweetness and naturally tart berry. Mandarin, spring Cling Peach, woody mint. Bitteness and malt are an afterthought to the rehalious hop onslaught.

Undated can (but very recent release) poured into Aslin anniversary glass.
L: Hazy orange. 1F head with good retention, leaving lots of lacing and a cap and ring.
S: Lots of grapefruit and tropical fruit, with some earthiness. It's a lighter cousin of Master of Karate and comes off that way.
T: Follows nose beautifully, with a good amount of flavor and lots of grass, pine, and earth on the back end. Slightly bitter finish.
F: Light bodied, moderate carbonation, pretty good drying with good crispness. Wrung a lot of flavor out of these hops for an APA. Good balance.
O: Aslin just KILLS it with these low ABV APAs and IPAs and I hope they keep making more of them.
