Way too busy with this mix of flavors. Tastes and smells like liquid bubblegum. Disappointed with my first beer from this brewery.

Can. Double Dry-Hopped Double India Pale Ale Brewed With Passion Fruit, Mango, Peach, & Vanilla Aged On Cyprus & Sugar Maple Wood. Jesus. This pours like actual fruit juice; because it essentially is. There is almost zero head and the body contains an downright disturbing amount of pulpy, solid material. The countless chunks are legitimately suspended, motionless in the oily soup of the beer. Again...Jesus. Aroma reminds me of Hudson Valley Beer I once had. Tart, fruity, and hoppy. There is an almost eucalyptus aroma in there too. The flavor and nose are pretty stark contrasts. It tastes like rich vanilla and tangy passion fruit. Elements of the flavor remind of a really tart fruit popsicle. Also peach bellini with a dollop of whipped cream. There is so much going on. I know that's the purpose but good LORD. The body is thick, syrupy, and chewy. No booze though until you get in once you burp. Really low carbonation. This beer is a dumpster fire. Still, it tastes kinda legit. Can't help but feel like this will give me hellacious gastric distress tomorrow...will report back.

16 oz can week of release poured into Alchemist glass. Nice and fresh.
L: 1+F head with poor retention, leaving a little bit of lacing and a ring. Beer is a hazy golden orange.
S: Peach, mango, and passionfruit really predominate, with a hint of the wood barrel.
T: Peach, mango, passionfruit again dominate. A hint of some wood. Not much pine, earth, or funk on the back end, quite clean.
F: Medium body, moderate carbonation. Good construction, but a surprising bitter aftertaste that lingers a bit.
O: Clearly a Johann variant and a good one. Worthy of their 5th Anniversary and hopefully decades to come.

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a murky dark amber with a thin, brief head. Basically no lacing. Initial impression is hugely juicy citrus, with orange predominating - followed by mango, grapefruit, and a touch of pine resin. Alcohol is very well hidden. Mouthfeel borders on sticky. Finish is clean and tart. Another excellent DIPA from Aslin!
