I had this at the brewery suggested by the beer tender. Motor oil dark with a brown head of foam. Rich roasted fruit and chocolate at first taste. Very mild sweetness. But a full flavored stout. I took a 4 pack home with me.

Poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a nice big black color with a small off white foamy head softly dissipating. Some super light speckled lace.
The aroma had a deep milk to dark chocolate bittersweet sticky character enveloping some black licorice sweetness and a deep sweet smooth ash. Coffee and some roasted malts towards the back end.
The flavor leads with a stellar of sweet and dark chocolates stealthily moving into a faint black licorice spicy character. Some wood and roast right before a sticky milk chocolate sweet aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation seemed a bit under allowing a fair amount of stickiness coating my tongue. ABV seemed on par. Good finish of smooth milk chocolate and a touch of grip from some roast.
Overall, an extremely well done imperial stout. Definitely would come back to.

Modest head production, and OK retention. Cola-like body with an inky sheen.

Sweet blend of molasses and licorice on the nose, along with brown sugar, red grapes, and bananas. Overall sweet with very little char.

Some ashy char up front immediately counterbalancing the sweet tones, which remain dominant. Dark fruit, bananas, brown sugar, honey, caramel, molasses, and licorice.

Smooth, lively, and drinkable. Full bodied, appropriate for the ABV, but no real heat.

Pours a thick midnight black with little head to speak of.
Smell is roasty and sweet with hints of chocolate and dried dark fruit.
Taste is richly roasty and chocolate malt notes dominate. The sweetness melts off at the end into a nice charred bite.
Mouthfeel is just what I want out of a beer like this, thick as oil and well able to fill your whole tongue with glee. This is definitely a big black stout.
Overall this is a surprisingly good beer. This is a big dark beer that doesn't use any gimmicks and just delivers big, bittersweet, stouty goodness.

A - Pours pitch black with a one finger brown head. The head fades fast leaving some light sticky lacing.

S - Aroma is dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and black licorice.

T - The taste follows the aroma. Huge dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, black licorice and some light dark fruits.

M - Full body with medium carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel with a soft dry finish.

O - This is a killer imperial stout. The flavors and mouthfeel are on point. Very well done.
