Love the name, but not sure I’m buying the Brut IPA thing, or at least not this interpretation. At some point if you take all the hoppy bitterness AND fruitiness out of an American IPA, it’s no longer an American IPA.

The look is a pale farmhouse/saison body, though the lacing is really outstanding.

Very light and farm-housey in the nose. Grass, cracker, lemon, and a little nondescript citrus. Very fresh and clean, but if I’m measuring this against general American IPAs, it doesn’t really hold up very well.

Taste is very similar. Very light, crisp and effervescent. Lemongrass, apple, cracker, white grape. Done.

Feel is nicely carbonated and a touch thicker than it looks. Very soft.

I'm grading this one against the American IPA category, which perhaps isn't fair because it's clearly something new and different. For what it is it's certainly highly drinkable and quite refreshing, so I certainly don't want to steer anyone away from it. But it's a tough one to grade, and as my first Brut IPA I also don't have a base for comparison even within the sub-style.
