Pours a cloudy golden color with a big top of creamy white head that dissolves slowly and leaves some really sticky lacings on the glass. Aroma is of apples, pears, citrus, vanilla, flowers , light bread and spices. The taste starts off sweet with notes of light fruits with some light malt tones in the back. Then it gets more dry with good notes of spices, before finish of with a decent bitterness with floral and citric notes. The aftertaste has a good lenght. Mouthfeel is crisp and creamy with a medium body and a prickly carbonation.
A very good example of a belgian tripel. Would definitely have one again.

Poured from a 33cl bottle (Best By 04-2020 - somewhere between 3 and 4 months fresh) into a Sahm, Goliath branded stemmed goblet.

A - Pours a gorgeous golden yellow (perhaps only Pilsner malt, but my guess is a blend of Pilsner and Malted Wheat) with a billowing, white, sea-foam head that reaches a full 3-fingers. As it is consumed, the glass lacing is absolute artwork. (5.0)

S - Bright and refeshing: Flowers, Vanilla, Fruitcake, Pears, Peaches and hints of citrus. Reminds me of something between Westmalle Triple and Unibroue's Don De Dieu (Tripel Wheat Ale). Absolutely no alcohol found in the nose. (5.0)

T - Confectionary (vanilla, fruitcake) sweetness and fruity (pears, peaches and lemon/lime) flavor that finishes with a pleasant and dry hop bitterness. Despite the 9% ABV, no alcohol warmth is felt after the sip (even at room temperature). (5.0)

M - Medium-Plus body with creamy carbonation elevates the drinkability of this high ABV beer. Perfect beer for any occasion and for any weather. (5.0)

O - I can find no fault with this beer! This rivals (if not exceeds) my favorite all-time Tripel...Westmalle. It possesses many of the same traits (aroma, body and bitterness), but seems to fall slightly lighter on the palate. Being that I cannot source this in The States makes me urgent to drink as much as I can before I depart Brussels. At 1.85Euro (in the supermarket) for a bottle...this is as good as Belgian Craft Beer gets. (5.0)

very cool beer from these guys, with a different label than the one pictured, you really dont see this around too much, and the bottle i am having tastes a little old, although i dont see a date. slight oxidation creeping in and a little staleness in the yeast camp, but i like the beer a lot even still, and think its quite a distinct take on the style. lots of haze and a tall white head. just a bit more flush on the color than these usually are, with a light copper glow. it smells like authentic old world begian yeast, more spicy than fruity, mature and resolved, white pepper, grains of paradise, honey. the flavor is entirely yeast driven as well, and i really like this strain, although it tastes a little stressed from time in the bottle to me. i like how rustic it is, not overly refined, and not anywhere near as sweet as a lot of these can get, although it definitely still has a bit of sugar in it. very well carbonated and lingering quite long in the finish. honey again, and the spice on the tongue. some bitterness back there too which i am not familiar with in this style. clever old world type beer, well executed and different enough to be memorable. plenty of body too. now that i find one of these i like this much, its hard to come by. just my luck.

Had two 0.33l bottles, at €4.00 each, during a visit to cafe Frape in Maastricht on 28SEP15.

Poured into a Goliath chalice, it was a light to medium golden color, and was a touch cloudy within. Carbo was aggressive, and it had a fluffy, marshmallow-white head, steady at 1/4", and nice lace. Aroma was a bit light, with some crackery malt and light fruit notes evident. Had some prickle, but had a good feel and medium body overall.

Flavor was crackery as well, with a hint of sweetness. Lightly fruity, with apple and pear, and a bit of a yeasty aspect in the finish. Also detected a smidge of spiciness at the end. A nice Tripel! Zum Wohl!

Poured from a unique 1 PT 9.4 fl oz. bottle into a tulip glass.

A slow decant makes a nice frothy, and rocking thick controlled white head. Three fingers tall and deep meringue like top. Body color manages though a real orb lemon glow, and a roaring middle fire of carbonation. A bit muddy, and we even still manage to have some good floaties going on here even with a controlled pour. Clinging rocky clumps hang on the glass, fight and never leave with its aggressive appearance. If you can manage the floaties out of this good luck, which would make it a real spectacular looker.

Real nice classic old school tripel aroma. White wine grape yeast like esters. Excellent deep bakery bread qualities, popping out of the oven practically. Great floral and perfume like notes, mild herbality. Just complex and diverse with an excellent bouquet you could spend hours on. Wonderful stuff.

Palate gets into the goods, but manages to need some control. Champagne and nice carbonation, but also a bit of phenolic like properties starting to creep in. Soft malts and honey like sweetness, with excellent fruit like peach and muted apricot flavors. Nearly juicy and mimosa but also handling a white wine character in the balance. Controlled booze but not a big surprise, but not well hidden either as it bursts a little bit of hot phenols to go with it.

This is a real good tripel, but it seems to be missing that sweet perfect spot that I love so much. Real good and memorable.
