A very sweet pancake style beer. It is a silky pastry but with a medium body. They definitely get along with UAs big sweet stouts.

Look: Black coffee pour with a thin ring of foam and a syrup (must be maple LOL) like lace on the glass.
Smell and Taste: Maple, Coffee, Chocolate. Fairly sweet as it should be for a Maple Breakfast Stout.
Feel: It feels fine. Just the correct amount of carbonation, which was surprising do too the lack of a head. 11% ABV scores extra points.
Overall: A really good maple stout. Might just be from the boiled peanuts I'm washing down.

On tap at the Growler Factory on St Simon Island. Revisited in October 2022 with a 12 oz can.
Appearance. Dark, nearly opaque, brown body. Weak head.
This is indeed a "double maple" stout, having a clear and relatively strong maple note. A corollary is that the beer is quite sweet up front. It does have a countering more of bitter black coffee and eventually leaves a mildly bitter aftertaste. The high ABV is very well hidden.

Octopi Double Maple Imperial Morning (Milk) Stout, 11% ABV. Pours jet black with a nice 3-finger light-brown head that left no lacing. Nose is maple syrup and coffee. Taste follows, quite sweet but not cloying, slight bitterness. Decent smooth mouthfeel, if a bit under-carbonated. Overall outstanding, best and most mapley maple beer I've had.

Smelling like a slightly boozy cinnamon roll... maple syrup, vanilla, some yeast... when I popped the can top, the stout made a delayed one-finger head of a light dark brown sugar color. In the glass, the scent has more coffee, malt, and butterscotch aromas. It was a deep molasses brown with some transparency with the pour, but it's pretty opaque in the glass. In the mouth, the first sense is of it being very full, round, and slippery. There is a little black licorice initially which gives way to slight carbonation and sourness then the licorice comes back. I'm not picking up anything I would call maple. The more I drink the more I noticed the sour mixed with a cloying burnt sweetness. It figures that even in a build-my-own 6-pack that I'd put in two of the same thing.... not sure what I'm going to do with the second can since I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this first one. If it gets better when it approaches room temperature, I'll come back and edit this. Regardless, I'm not going to buy this one again. EDIT: It is better when it approaches room temperature insofar as the sourness is decreased some, but it just makes it all the more cloying.

Aroma is big coffee, dark malts and a hint of maple syrup. The flavor is coffee, chocolate, dark/roasted malts, a hint of raisins and an acidic/slight sweet finish.

Pours black with tinges of light brown with a head that disappears quickly. Aroma promises maple, with vanilla, sweetness and I am almost certain a tiny hint of cinnamon. Taste is dark, slightly burnt maple, lots of vanilla and a hint of coffee. There's a lot of sweet and lactose as well. While on the sweet side, this is still eminently drinkable and thoroughly enjoyable.

Look: dark brown, some ruby highlights. Slight mocha head
Smell:sweet maple and vanilla.
Taste: much like the nose, not as sweet up front, but a sweet bloom in the finish. If you dig pancakes with extra syrup for dessert, this for you.

12oz can. Bottom of can has stamped canning date of '07/02/20'.
Very dark brown colored body, with a whiskey brown back lit edge. A vigorous pour yields a one finger head of tan color. This head recedes to an interrupted cap. Almost all of the lacing spots slide back down into the body.
Aroma is big on the maple, with lesser smells of coffee, dark roasted malt, and sweet chocolate.
Taste brings together the maple, coffee, and chocolate as a blend, with vanilla and other roasted malt contributions. Sweet overall. The maple and coffee, and a little chocolate linger in the aftertaste.
Thicker than average body. Slight creaminess and smooth. Certainly has an alcohol bite from the higher ABV%. Good carbonation.
Well blended sweet stout with strong maple and coffee flavors.

Brown edging on a medium black body, with a huge mocha head. Maple is king in the nose, subtle milk chocolate, coffee beans, vanilla, barley, and malt support. Taste see the maple king again but now the queen coffee cozies up along side for a wonderful pair, again the court of chocolate, vanilla, and earthy malts. Feel is medium bodied, roast and sweet textures keep each other in check. Overall a nice coffee dessert beer that doesn't get obnoxious

Really great for the price. This has become a staple for me. Easy to drink, great maple smell and taste, and not hard to come by in Southern Wisconsin.
