Poured into a wine glass. A hazy bright yellow color with a thick white head. Aroma was certainly reminiscent of Pliny, with lots of pine, earthy resin, and grapefruit citrus. The taste was softer with moderate bitterness. There was a sharp grapefruit rind presence mixed with lots of pine and a little bit of earth. Medium bodied and carbonated. Overall, a likable beer, particularly if you like piney IPAs.

Tasted in a Rastal Teku from a one pint can on July 18, 2018. This weeks IIPA is a nod to Pliny the Elder, the original IIPA. Our version, V18, is brewed with the same base hazy IIPA recipe you have come to love and made with the same Elder hops (Centennial, Columbus, and Simcoe). This one is for people who love dank beers with citrus notes.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Cloudy golden peach pour with 3 fingers of fluffy white head. Great retention and lacing.

S: Juicy/fruity. Strong grapefruit and citrus. Milder tropicals.

T.F: Follows the nose. Light grains in the background. Big time NEIPA tropical fruit mixed with grapefruit juice. Pineapple, melon, and mango, but citrus dominant. Light and sticky on the tongue.

O: An outstanding NEIPA. Great flavor... definitely a juice bomb. One to seek out, just like any of the other 'Hubbard's Cave' releases.

Thought this beer was pretty good, but didn't love the hops being used. Can't recall what they were exactly.
Had a nice big white head - orange cloudy/hazy color. Pretty grapefuity, but not really juicy. Was a little disappointed based on some of the hype.
