1.9 oz bottle poured into a footed pilsner glass.

A: Clear and pale yellow with a steady stream of bubbles quickly rising up to a huge, frothy, rocky white head. Head retention was good and it left very sticky spider-web like lace all the way down the glass.

S: Pilsner malt, light citrus notes of lemon and lime, and some grassy hops.

T: Light biscuity malt taste, grassy and citric hops. Finishes dry. This is a very clean and crisp beer.

M: Mouthfeel is very light, almost watery, and there is a heavy amount of carbonation. On par with the style.

D: Drinkability is very high. This is a very light, refreshing beer. Perfect for the summer months.

Notes: This beer felt a bit bland to me. The hop profile seemed subdued. A bottled on date was curiously absent, though I was assured that the store did not have it on their shelves for more than three weeks. I suspect that it wasn't as fresh as it could have been. I have also had it on tap, and thought it was much better that time around.

Poured from the bottle into a Libbey style pilsner glass.

Bright and shiny brass yellow body color, with sparkling crystal clear appearance. A good amount of cola sized carbonation at first, much of it rising fast, settles with thinner slow rising pinhead carbonation latter. Head is frothy and big at first, with lots of soapy retention that pops quickly and dissolves. Bubbly crown, odd pill lacing, and a soapy cling. Real nice looking pils.

Excellent aroma. Wonderful mix of herbal hop notes. Spicy action on the nose, hints of mild pepper but of real green earth and hop depth. Clean sensing profile but also a mix of soft malts and a complex hop angle. Nicely amped but not overly for a pils and sticking to classic roots. Great smelling brew.

Palate gives a little inch more than the basics. Clean and popping carbonation slightly with soft herbal tones on the palate. Dense malt bill without a big sweetness, makes a fantastic template for hop flavor. Clean herbs and mild spices abound. Hop leafy like aromas seem to chew through on the aftertaste while consuming.

A real solid German pils that easily makes the grade.

Firkin at Beervana.

Light fizzy head of just a few big bubbles, as typical from a firkin, mostly clear pilsner golden pale color.

Nose has lots of fruit, apple, pear, lager fruits, a nice crisp lager aroma, lots of soft complex malts, light floral noble hops.

Taste is similar, bringing nice crisp lager flavors and fruits, apple and pear again. A really nice soft almost creamy complex malt from a well done decoction with a hint of sweetness. Then a nice hop bitterness comes through starting light then intensifying but never too much, with a nice floral noble hop that starts to get very slightly spicy on the finish as it also dries. Lingering fruit, soft malts, and some hop bitterness.

Mouth is lighter bodied, lower carb due to firkin.

Overall really nice, refreshing and drinkable with a lot of flavor. Typical Bavarian pils, lots of lager flavors, soft but complex malts, nice hop kick. Wish I could brew like this.

Oh my god. This brew is phenomenal. Fantastic, yet mild hoppy characteristics, a nice maltiness, and crisp enough to pound should the situation require. I'm sure this would be a great breakfast or lunch beer, though drinking it near midnight feels just as acceptable. Slight bitterness balanced with a fresh sweetness, exactly what I crave from a pils. So far, my favorite pils I have found in Germany. With the Ungespundet Kellerbier this brewery is 2/2 with me. Just, good lord, so fucking fresh and delicious, it leaves Fässla's (who i love) pils in the dust and brings shame to my favorite American "German-style" pilsners (such as Sierra Nevada Nooner). I will likely drink this every day at least once until I die or am ejected from this beautiful country.

Poured a nice straw color with not nearly as much head as expected though not much of one at all, aroma is very bready and malty with a note of wet burlap wich was a little odd to me but not repulsing.Taste was definantly clean and crip with a sweet edge to it finish had a nice herbal hop note that lingers pretty well.A great beer to have sittin on the porch listening to the crickets.

Appearance – This one poured a light yellowish-orange in color. It was very clear with some strong carbonation and a nice white head.

Smell – This Pils has a malty slant to its nose, but otherwise everything is right on. The German hops are grassy and light.

Taste – The smooth grainy malt is sizable for the style. The light grassy hops from the nose make it righteously to the taste. There’s also an herbal flavor to this bier.

Mouthfeel – This is damn near medium-bodied with some good carbonation and a distinctive dryness that lingers throughout the finish.

Drinkability – The malts were kind of big for a Pils, but this really was an excellent drinker and one that I will not hesitate to buy again. Another fine bier from Mahr’s.

L: Pours brilliant straw gold under a 2” thick off-white foam collar that clings to the side of the glass.
S: Bready malt aromas seasoned with hop spice.
T: Malt forward beer with light malt flavors and long lingering malt aftertaste with a spicy and moderately bitter noble hop presence.
F: Crisp and sparkly with medium carbonation and medium body
O: Very well made refreshing malty pilsner with just the right hop emphasis

Appearance: Light golden straw tone with a vibrant nice sized white head, leaves streaks of lacing as it dwindles at a moderate rate. Aroma: Great clean biscuit malts and two row barley, clean overall with a dash of Hallertau hops in the finish. Taste: Very clean classic example of a German pils, grassy taste with a slight lemon citrus bite to it hops leave a good bitterness on the palate a great all around go to pilsner. Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied moderate carbonation good stuff. Drinkability: Excellent session brew the type of Pils that could be drank in number and enjoyed the entire time.

An average pilsner. Nice floral scent, but grassy and dry and almost watery
and not all that smooth nor refreshing, even with food. Light sweetness ,contained in a bulk of soapiness. Metallic drying bitter aftertaste. I've had better homebrewed pils.

25 oz. bottle poured into a tulip glass.

Appearance-Pale Yellow and very lightly hazy. Moderate white head with fine bubbles and moderate retention. Some nice lacing.

Aroma-Complex aroma-sweet, grainy malt with some biscuit characteristics, floral/spicy hops with some citrus (I'm not sure if the citrus is from the hops or if it's a yeast character in this one), and very light background diacetyl. Yum.

Flavor-Hops make a greater showing in the flavor, but are not overly bitter and are certainly not harsh. Light grainy malt and almost a low honey flavor. Hops have a floral, spicy, and citrusy flavor. Malt dries out in the finish leaving the light hop flavors to play out into the finish.

Mouthfeel-Medium low body, Medium high carbonation. Medium crisp, could be a hair better in this department, but still quite smooth-no harshness or unpleasant astringency.

In the words of a great woman-I could drink a shitload of this. This is a delicious beer.

Bottle from Whole Foods, Chicago. A pretty likeable after sampling their unfiltered lager before. Pour the familiar frothy lager-head (nyuk!). Color is pale straw, of course. The malt gives up very little character, per style. Hops are more sharp and spicy, and only at the end do they show a hint of Pilsener character. A bit gassy, too. Not much more than a well presented example of a bland style.

L: Gives a clear golden color, a small top of head that disolves rapidly when I pour in the glass leaving small white islands.

A: herbs, spices, light fruits like apples and pears, breaded malts and caramel.the aroma is balanced great between the hops and malts.

T&F: starts of sweet with a fruity backnote, I sense more the herbs and the spices in the middle where I also sense light malts comfortable in the background. A nice finish of good balanced bitterness in the finishing. Aftertaste are is lasting for a good time and is very comfortable when it comes to the mouthfeel. Gives a good bite when you drink it.

O: a really great pilsner, really enjoyable and drinkable. This is how a pilsner is done. A good beer from Mahrs brau

I'm not a huge Pilsner fan, but this was very good. The appearance is very appealing with a slightly opaque lemon yellow appearance. Head dissipated quickly, but left a great lacing. Smell was maltly with a hint of hops. Tast is mainly creamy and malty...I want to try this again in the summer on a hot day....macro brewers take note...this is smooth and drinkable! Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy but light enough to be refreshing. Very drinkable...would defintely try again...especially in the summer.

Poured from a .5L bottle to a standard V-shaped pilsner glass. The liquid is straw yellow and clear with huge carbonation. It pushes up a tall 3 finger white head with a rocky surface that fades slowly to show a good lace.

The smell is of biscuits and killer hops.

The taste is grainy bread and hopy. Very nice indeed.

The mouthfeel is very good just how it should be when fresh, This might be over 6 months old but well kept. A lighter body, good carbonation, very refreshing.

The drinkability is good, no complaints. Prosit, MK

bottled 5 0 22 - whatever that means

pours bright yellow gold - plenty of sediment in the beer - 2+ finger head that leaves no lacing

smell is sweet cereal grains with some spicey hops

taste is cereal grains lemon with some spice hops on the finish

mouthfeel is so so - beer is flat no real life

drinkability is good even though the mouthfeel is not so good - the taste is solid

Had this at Moan and Dove since they finally had this bottled again. The drink poured with a light murky orange-yellow appearance with a decently thick head. The aromas were rich in grassy and herby smells wrapped around bready overtones. The taste maintained an earthy feel to it through its bready-citrus, bitter-sour balance. The carbonation was good on this one, leading to a stable crispness throughout. Overall, a good pilsner.

17 oz bottle picked up at the Boise Coop for $3 ... poured into my small weizen glass... my label says 5%.

Nice pour leaves a 2 finger rocky head that drops leaving nice lace.. pale gold/dark straw crystal clear brew.

Grainy pale malts and spicy hops are at the top of the aroma profile .. Very clean.

Flavor is bready with a good punch of bitterness and floral hoppiness. Hop flavors linger for quite a while. Good body but with lighter than expected carbonation. Finish is noble hops with a slight metallic twang.. but that twang could just be I haven't had a good German pils in a while... Could maybe use a little more carbonation and a touch more body.. but still very drinkable.

Very good across the board.. I wish this was one I could find on draft... I would certainly park myself at a stool and enjoy more than a couple.

Wow.
I'm touring Pils beer these days and loving it. From a NW hop head that's saying a lot.
This one is my favorite. Here is what is really interesting:
We'll be in Bamberg Germany this summer so I'm ready for it on tap!. Mohr Pils in July on the Rhine River. Can't wait.
