I've had lots of fun here, but it isn't a beer bar. It is an Irish-style pub that caters to the Bay Street crowd (I work on Bay Street, so I end up here sometimes). It can be packed on some nights after work, but it will clear it as the night goes on.

Beer selection is European imports (Guinness, Kilkenny, Smithwick's, Harp, etc), Canadian macros, plus Steamwhistle and Amsterdam Blonde.

Food is better than most pubs. I enjoy their brunch since I live close, but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Service is great.

There really is no reason to go here if you are looking for beer. C'est What, Duggan's, and Beer Bistro are all a short walk away.

A neat, but mainstream pub in the downtown area that should cater to any tourists and locals who fancy something Irish. I believe the embassy used to be a bank... either way its cavernous inside, with extremely high ceilings. The usual macro suspects dominate the lineup (with a heavy emphasis on inbev), and other for the glorious building nothing makes this Irish bar standout from any other fake Irish bar in the world. Food is regular pub grub, and service is hit-or-miss.

If you want to grab a decent beer you should check out some of the more notable locations in the surrounding area - C'est What and Beerbistro are within 5 minutes walk.

Upscale Irish-themed pub right on a corner on busy Yonge Street. Interior looks new with high ceilings and plasma screens on every wall. Looks very nice.

I felt the selection was rather limited for this beer-rich town. About 20 taps (one of which is contract-brewed especially for this pub) but too many common non-Canadian beers taking up space, only macros in bottles. "Irish" pubs are like McDonald's worldwide and I'd like to see a few more local brews offered here, even if they're kept in bottles.

Service is hit-or-miss as when my original server's shift ended, she changed clothes and left the establishment without saying a word either to me or anyone else. I had to track down another server myself, who hadn't been told either. Didn't try the food.

A very nice Irish pub in the heart of downtown Toronto. My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to eat and drink near our hotel, and the connceirge recommended the Irish Embassy. What a good pick! Our server was actually the manager on the shift. He was extremely friendly; in fact, he actually sat down with us at the tabel and asked about our time in Toronto. We were very impressed. The food was very good. I recommend the lamb burger and the bison burger. As for the beer, they had a good selection, especially an impressive listing of Belgian brews. I tried Hoegaarden for the first time in North America here at the Irish Embassy, and it was almost the same exact flavor as the one I had in Brussels. Overall, this place is a must for any visit to Toronto, especially if you are in Downtown Toronto.

A nice little all-wood Irish pub, that is located up Yunge street in Toronto. This bar has a good selection of imported beers on tap. I had a Hoegaarden and a Caffreys ale on my last visit. The Bartender was very friendly and nice to talk to and the food that I ordered was great and bought out very quickly. I had the P.E.I. garlic mussels and they were fantastically tasty. A nice little Irisih pub in the heart of downtown Toronto!
