Alaskan Brewing Company Alaskan Amber
Live review. Poured from stubby 12 oz. bottle that I bought as a “mix sixer” from Giant Eagle in Madison, Ohio about a week ago into a clean, clear glass. “Mix sixer“ was $10.99. Best by 07 09 17” stamped on label so this one is fresh. 5.3% ABV mentioned on the label.
A: Translucent Copper body under a nice, light brown head. Classic, good look.
S: GREAT medium roast malt sweetness in the smell which is somewhat nutty and very inviting.
T: The taste carries right from the suggestion of the smell. GREAT, sweet medium roast malt sweetness with a sense of grain in the front but that quickly dissipates.
M: Feel is appropriately moderate with a really nice thin layer of syrupy sweetness left on the toungue for at least a few minutes after last sip. Love the feel of this beer!
D/0: Drinkability is really high (I could have 4 or 5 of these) and Overall this beer is a big success.
Notes: Last time that I had one of these was in Juneau when I brought a six pack of this to a Halibut dinner served by some of the Halibut fisherman who I knew there. That was in late 1999 or early 2000. I should not wait this long to have my next Alaskan Amber, a great example of the style.

Alaskan Amber brewed by Alaskan Brewing Co., With an ABV of 5.30% This brew pours out a nice Light brown amber color with a small off white head. There is also a decent amount of lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is rich with sweetness, roosted grains and malts. There is also a touch of hop bitterness in the smell. Between the look and smell this is one inviting brew. Now for the taste it is bold , but smooth with flavors. You first pick up on the sweet roasted grians and malts . The sweetness reminds me of caramel, or maple. The body of this brew is a real super nice medium. This is on nice smooth drinking brew. There is nothing overpowering about Alaskan Amber , it has a real nice balance to it. The mouth feel of Alaskan Amber, is Sweet, Bold, Rich, Clean, Smooth and Refreshing. Overall I'm giving Alaskan Amber a 4.50 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again. If you are looking for a smooth darker brew look this one up. Alaskan Brewing Co., Did a real nice job with this brew.

Color is good very deep red amber color with a nice 1/4 inch of mocha tinted head. Smell is biscuit and sweet malts and taste is about the same balanced and easy drinking. Body is good its a light to medium brew.

Overall of all the beers I have had from Alaska this one is as close to the style it's sweet, malty and easy to drink.

Poured into glass mug from a 12 oz bottle. Very nice reddish orange colour with a soapy tan head. Smells of mild malts and tastes very similar to the aroma, toasty malts slighty sweet with a bit of breadyness. Mouthfeel is smooth. Prost!

Nice clear amber color with an off white medium head, large bubbles. Smells of grain and some sweet esters. Flavor is grain, some caramel, and malty sweetness. Very nice mouthfeel, creamy and full. The flavor sadly isn't anything special, it's good, but it doesn't stand out at all.
