look: 3 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Appearance- Pours up an okay amount of head which has pretty poor retention. The head is a very light beige/off-white while the body is a dark amber which looks medium amber in the light. Only a few spots of lacing are left behind.

Nose- Very bready with lots of malt character. Mostly brown bread with slightest hint of raisins. Good amount of caramel as well. Much more presence from the bottle than from the glass. Mild notes of citrus, mostly orange.

Taste- Very sweet with notes of orange, a little bit of raisins, a bit of candi sugar that moves into a wallop of grain. Bready but more simplistic (and not simplistic in a bad way, just in a more basic way). A little bit of woodiness- slight oak. A little thin on the finish with a minor hop presence- some pine and resin. No real linger as the finish is a tad bit dry. Appears to be a fairly good representation of the style. Above average as most malt forward beers don't do it for me unless they are high gravity. No real flaws and this seems like a solid standard for someone who likes this style.

Mouthfeel- Just a bit over light bodied. Light carbonation as well. Lacks structure.

Drinkability- Pretty easygoing. The malt bill is well rounded. Reasonable/normal price for your average craft beer.

Overall- Above average. Nothing amazing but also nothing that disappoints. I would give it a try.
