A-Bottle with a BB date of 1 14 18 poured into a pint glass. A 1/4" of light tan tight head atop a light brown clear beer.
S-Notes of coffee are most prominent. Lightly roasted and slightly sweet malt notes.
T-Coffee taste with a significant sweetness to balance any bitterness from the coffee.
M-A little bit of a creamy mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. A touch of coffee bitterness in the finsh. No alcohol bite.
O-Nothing objectionable, but also nothing stands out. Decent enough flavor without any off.

Look: Beautiful burgundy liquid sits below a light head. Not very much lace.

Smell: A slight coffee aroma is emitted by this lovely brew.

Taste: Tastes of coffee and chocolate are mixed throughout the taste.

Feel: Not the best mouth feel, albeit not terrible. Mediocre in this regard.

Overall: Pretty darn good brew here. It has some good flavor and looks great. Glad I got to try it.

Served in a 12oz snifter.

Drinking the 2016, post-pilot version. The brown malts and coffee blend wonderfully for a fantastic caramel, chocolate, and roasted bean flavor. The only thing I'd change is to dial back the sweetness and dry it out. And this is just personal preference, but I wish this was a 4.5% brew. I'd be happy to toss back several.

Pours clear, dark brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is dark roast coffee and toasted malt. Medium bodied, high carbonation and roasty. Makes for an above average coffee beer and a nice seasonal offering....Could certainly get lost in a daydream and see myself sipping this in the fall in Alaska. A nice and clean sipper for anyone who enjoys coffee.

12oz bottle, best by 011418
Deep copper colored ale with a creamy beige head. Nice coffee aroma with caramel malt, toffee, and chocolate with some earthy hops. Nice balanced flavors with light roast coffee at the forefront along with sweet caramel and toffee, toasty grain, a bit of chocolate with earthy hops adding some needed bitterness. Medium body, moderate carbonation, finishing semi-dry and excellently balanced.

served on draft at the salmon bake in Denali...

Pours dark with a creamy white head that hung around. Smell was absolutely exceptional. Like a tasty creamy double shot espresso w. vanilla cream - hints of malt...taste backs this up, with the hops coming through at the very end in a somewhat off balanced way.
Mouthfeel was...lacking for me. it had a bit of a thin, syrupy feel that didnt resonate- like perhaps it should have been served on nitro. Overall an excellent coffee beer.

Bottle dated 030216 into a shaker pint. Really hoped for more nose, good appearance, and really solid mouthfeel. Coffee was noticeable and not over powering. A solid brown, but I'd rather have the Saint Archer Cofree Brown. Worth a try but not a repeat.

Pours a clear medium colored brown with a thick and fluffy light khaki head.

Nose is light "green coffee bean" character - not really any assertive coffee tones one might expect. Very light coffee, at best.

Mouth feel is medium full with nice carbonation and excellent balance.

Flavor profile is nice. Very clean, fresh and bright with sweet light coffee, light roasted grain and light brown sugar tones. Light bitter. Not particularly complex but flavorful and inviting. This is well made with a sweetish light coffee lasting finish.

This is a fun beer.

Not a coffee stout, not a porter, but a decently boozy brown ale.

A nice change of pace from your IPAs and stouts that are flooding the market, but the 7% abv you enjoy.

Pours a dark tan with a small head...not not lace and not a lot of legs.

Sweet malty scent tinged with coffee...taste follows. Nice flavor hear, almost like a coffee with cream and sugar beer. Goes down smooth...super easy to drink, but that 7% could sneak up on you.

Nice job on this one Alaskan!

Best by 1/18/17. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a dark brown with auburn hues; fluffy light tan head that fades leaving nice bubbly retention and nice lacing. The aromas are very malty. Hints of vanilla and cocoa. Some coffee notes along with some hints of hazelnut. It has an espresso like vibe in the aroma department. The flavors are bold and rich. Strong malt backbone. The coffee is balanced with everything and isn't overwhelming. Slightly earthy with a decent bitterness. More cocoa and vanilla with some hints of coconut in the finish. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is very nice. It's medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's slick and slightly syrupy. Very smooth and easy to drink.

This is a very nice brown ale. The coffee is balanced, but is present and seems to make everything go. Very enjoyable stuff.

Copper ruby-like pour.
Nose is pleasant coffee and sweet malts.
Tastes pleasant like the nose, slightly bitter with a somewhat sweet roasted coffee flavor, and a nutty aspect.
Feels like medium carbonation, kind of creamy and finishes a little bit dry.
A nice coffee brown ale. Although it's more dry than I would prefer, the coffee flavor and bitterness/ sweetness level is balanced nicely here. As a result, it's pretty easy to sip.
Go Cubs.
