Slightly hazy golden color with a moderate white head that recedes quickly.
The aroma is light, fresh bread, hints of citrus.
The taste is light fresh bread, a hint of orange, some really vague spice notes, basically mildly sweet with a slightly drier finish. Tastes more like a pale wheat ale or even a lager than a wit, nothing offensive, just a bit bland.
The body is light, plenty of carbonation at first but fades quickly, fairly smooth and very drinkable. Altogether, Whatever this is, it is reasonably refreshing, fairly tasty.

Alaskan Brewing Co. "White"
12 fl. oz. can "BEST BY: 01252023 10:45:46" and sampled on 12312022
$1.99 @ Wall To Wall Wine and Spirits, Omaha, NE
Notes via stream of consciousness: A rough pour has brought up two fingers width of white foam atop a hazy yellow-gold body. The aroma is sweetish, grainy, wheaty, softly citrusy, and woody. The flavor is lightly sweet and bready but also a touch acidic, and I'm getting notes of orange and lemon. The spice is subtle and mainly appears in the lingering aftertaste. The head has dropped to a creamy cap of white that's about a half of an inch tall. Unfortunately there's only a few spots of lace here and there. It's moderately bitter with 15 IBUs but the acidity allows it to still finish dry. In the mouth it's medium-light in body and gently crisp-then-smooth. It's slightly different, which is nice, and it's quite refreshing.

Pretty fucking boring beer. At first I was like this barely tastes like a witbier. But its actually the lack of spice, clove, etc im missing. Is this to its advantage or disadvantage per style? I feel like the latter.
To me this is a piss poor witbier if thats what I'm reaching for. As an American pale wheat beer this beer would hit straight 4s. Nothing great but its what you expect.

From the can, it pours an ever so slightly hazy golden color with a nice white head that soon diminishes to a thin ring. The nose gets a bit of sweet malt and fruit - orange hints. The mouth gets a bit of orange, overlaying a solid base of light malt.

This is a 12oz. can poured into the Alaskan pint glass. The brew is a slightly hazy golden/orange with two fingers of white head that disappeared quickly leaving a little lace behind. The carbonation appears to be on the light side.
The aroma is light but pleasant, sweet fruit, I am thinking notes of orange. There is also a bit of a yeast aroma that I am picking up on the sniff.
This is tasty stuff, light yeast flavors, wheat, orange peel, with a semi dry finish. The IBU is very light.
The feel is light and thin.
This is an easy one to drink and enjoy several in one sitting.

This one was not quite what I was expecting. I recently reviewed the Husky IPA, and based on that one, and the description of the White Witbier, I think the husky IPA should’ve gone in this can. This is based solely on the flavor description on the can, nothing more. Anyway, it wasn’t bad, but I was definitely expecting a little bit more citrus. At first it’s strongly carbonated. Very strong. Not too strong, but something to be aware of. After that bubbles start to die down, you get a little bit of a cheap lager taste, but it tastes like they cleaned it up with a little bit of pine sol. That’s a joke, it doesn’t taste like pine sol, but it does taste like a lager with just a hint of citrus. I couldn’t really put my finger on what, but there was some clean citrus. Without that, I think this would’ve just been another lager for me. Overall it wasn’t bad, and I thought it was actually an interesting mixture, but I probably won’t get it again.

LOOK - slightly hazy - 1 finger head but goes flat quickly
SMELL - some Belgian yeast notes - some citrus
TASTE - some Belgian yeast and spices - wheat is evident - slight orange and lemon - peppery and herbal
FEEL - medium bodied but really oily - thinner than anticipated
OVERALL - An ok beer - would not buy again as there are a lot of better White's out there

L- 70% Opaque orange yellow beer with 1F orange yellowish white head that fades without lace.
N-Orange, banana, yeast esters (bubblegum), wheat malt, a bit of butyric acid.
T- Orange, wheat, faint butyric acid, banana.
M- Medium, clean and soft, low carbonation
O- Was expecting a bit sharper more spiced wheat, but it is smooth and not offensive even with the faint butyric acid taint. Not a repeat buy for me, though.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of sweet wheat and orange. Tastes of wheat and orange, not much else, not unpleasant but not jump out at you flavor. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

This is the only Belgian-inspired ale on Alaskan's current list. It doesn't surprise me that White has the lowest rating of Alaskan's brews with over 800 ratings.
What White lacks is a fruit-yielding yeast that makes the style popular. White lacks foam, Looks flat, Smells like malt but not fruit, Tastes mediocre and is thin. I really don't think I should say more than this.
But I do like Alaskan's four other brews I've tried and respect how they have been brewing since the other century and get good distribution; making them the 19th largest crafter. For that, I give them good enough OA Hugs.... just stick to your knitting.

12oz can, about a year and a half old
No head, golden, cloudy; smells like wheat and lemon, almost a skunky summer shandy. This one might have turned.. Actually the flavor held up: spice and bread, coriander and pepper, light and watery but substantial flavor - enough to delight me as I watch Jack Black get dismembered in The Jackal. Crisp and slick feel that ends dry and powdery.
Another solid Alaskan beer. Nothing special, but extremely well done averageness that holds up over time

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from the Binnys located in Montgomery, IL. It poured a clear golden with no head and no lace. The scent had orange peel and coriander notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with wild berry zest and spice highlights. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's an ok beer.

Poured from a can into a tulip.
Pours a hazy light gold with moderate head but excellent lacing. More "fizzy" than is the norm for the style, with big bubbles. Somewhat dark for the style as well.
Classic banana and clove mix with orange peel and coriander. Zesty/fruity wheat is also apparent.
The brew is very fruity across the palate from front to back. Ester banana forward, with solid fruity and zesty wheat in mid-stream, with some orange and lemon here. The finish provides some coriander and clove, but also some band-aid/medicinal notes. Just a touch of tartness at the finish. It starts and finishes like a wit, with esters on the front and tart at the finish. Everything in between is kind of a spicy muddled mess.
The brew meets the style on the tongue, with good carbonation and lift. Medium light. Solid.
It smells and feels like a wit. It looks like a mess and tastes like a spice-rack. Mediocre.

There is a best by date on the label. The pour is golden yellow. I agree that the taste is quite muted for the style, the citrus & spice notes are not showing themselves enough. All in all, i'm glad to have tried a beer from this OG craft brewery. Cheers! B-

Pours an effervescent gold with 3 fingers of eggshell colored head. Zero head retention & lacing
S: Pears, juicy-fruit, white pepper
T: Pretty much follows the nose, some Golden Delicious Apple and dryness up front. More dryness, pears & juicy-fruit as this warms, a little leafy hop as well. Finishes a little too sweet with dryness & white grape/apple juice
MF: Medium body, subdued carbonation
Pretty run of the mill for style, needs a little Belgian influence, more like a kiddie-wit, drinks okay

Not quite as spiced as some other white ales, or as I would prefer, but a very fruity crisp white ale.
