Had on tap. Pours clear, gold in color with minimal head. Taste is earl grey tea, hay, and herbal hops. Medium heavy bodied, moderate carbonation, slightly bitter and dry. Makes for a super tasty ipa that I would get several glasses of, even though I prefer the barrel aged version more.

Pours a golden somewhat yellow color and leaves the same color body; the head is about a finger’s worth that bubbles up slightly over the glass, but doesn’t slide over (nice show!); carbonation is seen rising at a moderate pace; aroma has strong piney/citrusy scents up front; taste is mainly bitter through the citrusy/piney hops, but still manages to stick a nice light sweetness in there that carries into the aftertaste and then gives a nice dry bitter finish; it comes across fairly harsh on the palate like a good DIPA should and yet still manages to give the sweet stickiness of a good DIPA; overall, hey this is great stuff that I almost always have again. Well done Alaskan Brewing Company.

Very smooth run of the mill DIPA. Color as expected dark brown orange with a nice ring of lace after settling. Smell is more potent than their other IPA's very piney and citrus like. Taste is good bitter with some lingering bitterness but nothing exciting still it's rather good mend of hop to malt ratio with the gravity should give it some merit. Drinks like the regular IPA light to medium making this somewhat dangerous.

Overall nothing I can get again but a decent DIPA and very affordable at around 2 a single probably less for the sixer.

im new to rating beers thought id give it a go,im 26 starting drinking beer more ands cant really stand the light stuff anymore. anyway ill start with this Alaskan brewing co. hopothermia. i drink mostly pale ales. and from what i get out of it i think my taste buds like the hops taste of beers got this hopothermia from a gas station down the street. its 8.5 alc its a double ipa which from what i know is double or triple the hops yet from what i can remember from my teenage years this beer has more of a malt taste. i taste to much of malt and not enough hops which is what i like i like the taste of hops and if i like malt id buy the cheaper malt liquor so imo it taste like a cheaper malt. it doesn't have that thick hops taste i like its smell is light. and the body is light. it doesn't taste bad but its not that great.

Maybe I'm feeling generous. This is a nice double, but I recently had a few that were far superior.

It is deep yellow with thin head. The aroma is rich and dark. The taste is hoppy and malty, but more balanced than many of the style. That is not a good thing, but it makes it pretty drinkable.

Recommended for a taste of midnight sun.
