On tap at Manito tap house.
IBU: 70
Poured a golden raisin color with a etched surface of some light tans
Smells like apricot and tangerines with some sweet malts, a good tangy nose. Taste follows suit with lots of fruit, lots of apricot, peach, tangerines and some crystal malts. There's a touch of dank hops in the finish. Medium bodied with liberal carb and a nice semi dry finish that stimulates the salivary glands. Nice beer. Reminds me of duet from alpine

12oz bottle poured to a standard pint.

A: pours a nice, translucent amber color with about a 1 finger off white head. Leaves spotty lacing in the glass.

S: great aromas of pine/spruce, some citrus, sweet caramel, and alcohol.

T: Very well done. I get the citrus first, followed by the pine flavor. The malt is pretty sweet, but works well with the other flavors.

M: medium body, good carbonation, but not overly bubbly.

O: Very impressed with this DIPA from Alaskan. Quite tasty and drinkable.

12 oz bottle poured into snifter best by date of 2/6/16

A: soapy creamy looking head amber almost leaning to caramel body with some haze not crazy but no clarity

S: resiny and lots of malts very resiny though

T: resiny earthy little bit of a rust quality and a lot of old hop taste not a ton of malts but just like burnt hops and they are lighter than the nose

M: medium to a little bit lighter has a little bit of a cling to the tongue

O: meh It smells a little like Sixpoint's Resin the taste has a lot more of that old burnt hop taste I think this beer might be past its prime so take my review with a grain unless you are seeing a lot of the same

12 oz bottle served fresh and cold (but no date on the bottle to confirm the former).

Hop otherwise is a classic copper hue with great clarity and thick white head. It settles slowly leaving a rocky cap and some nice spotty lacing.

Aroma is pleasantly hoppy and fresh with grapefruit-centered citrus with a bit of spice.

Flavor is sweet up front with honey and caramel. The hops kick in the middle but never deliver a huge hit of bitterness. It's more hop flavor including orange zest and kafir lime. It finishes a bit dry but overall balanced.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated. It has good balance of sweet and bitter for a double IPA.

Overall a really solid example of the style but a little on the safe side for a real hop head

Poured from the tap.

The beer is a rich, amber colour. Very light nose, hoppy, citrus, and clean. The taste was not as bitter as expected, but had a citrus and hop flavour. Very clean, balanced, and not intense. Slight bitter aftertaste.

Would I buy it again? Yes.
