12oz bottle purchased at Bottles in Millwood, WA, for $1.39. No freshness date.
Poured an impenetrable dark brown that was almost black, that didn’t give an inch when held up to direct light. Good-sized tan head that receded rockily. Lots of lace.
More toffee than coffee in the nose, though there’s also a bitter, roasty scent.
There’s a bitter coffee flavor, and there’s a sweet toffeeish flavor. The problem is they don’t meld together well at all. It’s almost like two different porters were mixed together.
Dry, prickly mouthfeel, and a somewhat weak body.
Not impressed by this. The best I can say about it is that it looked good in a glass. It doesn’t appeal to me as a fan of coffee or as a fan of porters.

Brown pour, thin tan head 1/5". Didn't really have a lot of coffee aroma, it was there but only a 3 on a 1-10 scale.
Stayed laying low in the taste, tiny bit of chocolate, average roast. Call it a good intro to coffee beers or porters, but not really gonna make big fans of the style go out of their way to score this beer repeatedly.
