Taste is dark cherries, orange, cedar, and corn bourbon. Solid, dry, semi-sweet beer. I find myself liking other Alltech releases more, but this one still being better than a lot of the beers I have tried. I might get this one again, but may get others from the brewery first.

Pours a deep amber/dark tan. Syrupy, sweet, heavy aroma of bourbon and caramel malt. Syrupy mouthfeel, heavy body, bourbon and caramel malt taste. Dry, peppery finish. Sweet, caramel, orange peel and you can taste the ABV.

Got a little let down after reading the front of the bottle that said "Ale brewed with cherries and orange peel, aged in oak bourbon and bitters barrels". Color was deep golden with decent foamy head and good lacing. That's about as far as the good comments go. Aroma is kind of faint with a touch of cherries, bourbon and other citrus. Taste falls flat, tastes like heavily watered down bourbon. Picking up faint touches of alcohol, bourbon, sugary water. No where they bold taste that this one should have. Missing a lot and tastes just like water was added....Not much of a balance to speak of. Disappointed again...

12oz bottle poured into a snifter

A- pours a deep amber color with a small foamy white head that maintains for a while, then disappears completely

S- aroma has distinct cherry notes, having trouble picking up any orange. Beyond that, the aroma is very similar to their regular barrel ale. Light bourbon & sweet malt

T- sweet cherry up front with the bitters surprisingly popping through, still can't find much orange. Light bourbon notes, along with caramel malt and more spicy bitters on the finish

M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a slick mouthfeel that continues to the finish, light alcohol warmth on the linger

O- an interesting beer for sure, it pretty much drinks like a watered down old fashioned, worth try

The bourbon barrel is prominent but the cherry and orange peel is lost. It has some spicy notes of ginger and nutmeg while keeping an oakey maltiness. At times I taste something that may be perceived as cherry but otherwise it's a lot like the regular Bourbon Barrel Ale.
