Notes / Commercial Description:
Award winning Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is a unique sipping beer with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted bourbon. Our Kentucky Ale is aged for up to 6 weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after dinner drink.

This Sipping Beer is to be honored with taking your time with her. She is a dark gold, full mouthed, aroma of bourbon and carmel liquor tongue. She bubbles on and on with carbonation.

Pours a rich coppery Amber, one finger off white head, clear, constant stream of bubbles rising, some lacing.

Aroma is noticeably mettalic which is a turn off for me. Other than that there's some caramel, vanilla, oak, and Almond, slightly earthy.

Taste avoids being as metallic as the nose, good bourbon flavor played over an amber ale. The beer itself is just kind of biscuit and caramel, most of the flavor is a well integrated bourbon barrel, vanilla, oak, sweet corn. Almost reminds me of a malt liquor.

Light bodied, kind of thin and smooth, moderately soft carbonation.

Overall it tastes good enough to drink, and drinks pretty easy, it just doesn't seem very spectacular anywhere.

Kentucky native and decided to try this.

Poured it into my clear beer stein. Fair carbonation, not too thick of a head and is quite modest really. Smells like toffee and a little bit of vanilla, but really quite nice. Tastes really flavorful in the mixture of the toffee and also quite oaky, which I really like as it makes a sort of setting in the mouth. Also feels pretty rich, but not too flat.

Pretty good!

First time I have had this beer, and I love it. We have it at my restaurant Buffalo Wild Wing in Wilmington, NC The Monkey Junction location.

Pours a medium colored amber. Minimal head, though aggressively poured. Aroma akin to apple vinegar. Underlying taste of same. I may have got a dead bottle. Only bought 1, would like to give this another try.

Poured Kentucky Bourbon Ale into a snifter.
A - Pours a dark golden with a half of finger of white foam.
S - I smell toffee, vanilla, butterscotch.
T - On first taste I'm getting butterscotch, vanilla. Mid palate spicy hops and more vanilla.
M - Medium to high carbonation, thin mouthfeel.
O - A nice golden barrel aged ale. Cheers!

** Fabulous amber color. Not a big head. Sweet bourbon aroma. Super smooth non-bitter first taste. In taste, smell, and look you can definitely tell the beverage is laced with bourbon. This is a great ale! I would never have guessed it was 8.2% ABV as smooth as it goes down.
