Aroma is coffee/coffee filter and grains/malts. The flavor is fruit, coffee/coffee filter, mildly creamy, a hint of chocolate, malts and a slightly sour/tart finish.

Pours a light copper color with no foam to speak of. Smell is a beautiful coffee bean and malt. Taste follows with some citrus (?) and whiskey. Not that creamy. A little watery and a little scratchy going down but nicely done.

Kentucky Coffee Barrel Cream Ale brewed by Alltech's Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. This Cream Ale pours out of a 12oz glass bottle into a pint beer glass. Now this brew has an ABV of 5.50% The color of this cream Ale is a deep golden amber color with a nice white head. There is also a nice amount of lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is Rich with coffee notes mixed with whiskey an beer notes. The beer notes you pick up on a mirror roasted grains and malts with a mild hop bitterness. So far, Kentucky Coffee Barrel Cream Ale is a nice inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is Bold with flavors. You pick up a lot of coffee notes an mirror whiskey notes. There is also a slight sweetness to this brew, an it is a nice touch. The grains an malts are smooth an not overpowering. The body of this cream Ale is a solid medium. There is nothing overpowering about this brew, it has a super nice balance to it. I can't get over how smooth this brew goes down. This brew would go nicely with a dinner or after dinner brew. The mouth feel is Bold, Clean, Coffee, Sweet, Smooth and Refreshing. Overall I am going to give Kentucky Coffee Barrel Cream Ale a 4.25 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again givin the opportunity to.

Crystal clear amber body, with slow moving bubbles that give it an awkward liveliness. Very good head production, retention, and lacing.

Strong coffee on the nose, along with a sweet malt base yielding notes of honey, vanilla, cream, and pale grains.

Drops off on the palate. The coffee, cream ale, and barrel don't blend quite right. There's a very nice creamy coffee finish on the back third, and that really saves the beer, but you have to wade through a dry, grainy, awkwardly coffee-forward first two thirds to get there. As typical from Alltech, the bourbon is almost nonexistent, lending an awkward mash and barrel note without any of the payoff.

Lively and a touch sticky. Decent body for the low ABV.

Better than a macro AAL, with more flavor, but just barely. Not a repeat purchase.

Pretty deep amber, smells just like caramel popcorn, taste the same. Even kinda makes your lips sticky, lol! Of all the 'novelty beers' I've tried, this is both the strangest and most enjoyable!

As memories of coffeehouse latte comes to mind with the very first sip, the whimsy of the coffeehouse thoughts, feelings and emotions rising from the depths of our senses. But with Kentucky Ale folks at the helm, the beer jolts us back into the ale side of taste with their bourbon barrels, vanilla and overall pub ale flavor.

Bright gold and racingly carbonated, the frothy ale billows onto the nose with a cloud of coffee, caramel and cream. One touch of the lip and the tastebuds are enlivened by all things cappuccino and cream soda.

Moderate on complexity, the ale rests on sweet caramel, vanilla and coffee laurels. As the abundance of vanilla cream reach into the taste of pulled candy and macaroon, the coffee adds a depth of taste and a robust balance that elevates its taste to a affogato character in its finish.

Medium bodied and roasty sweet from start to finish, any hop character lurks shyly in the recesses of taste and allows the spice of bourbon, bean and oak to pull the weight in a medium sweet balance. Lingering sweet like soda, a hint of spice seems coffee derived with the slim simmer of whisky on the throat. Though not an overly provocative beer, its latte character is quite provocative
