Pinthouse Pizza - South Austin

Enormous space, busy on a Monday, generous happy hour (that I missed by minutes). Pizza was good, salad was epic, and the service is amazingly efficient.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Awesome kid and dog friendly restaurant, The house brews and pizza were both very good and well priced for such high quality tasty products. We really enjoyed our lunch paired with an Electric Jellyfish IPA and Porter. To top it off they have crowlers. I'd definitely stop by again

 

Visited the South Austin location with Da Boss after a visit to the Bullock Museum.

Vibe was OK, spacious place with picnic table style seating. Very small seating bar.

Quality of the beer was very good. Had a couple of the PHP in house brews and both were solid.

Service was very friendly. Essentially you order your food and then order your beers and go park it at a table and wait for a friendly delivery. All the staff was very cordial and friendly.

Selection was very good. There must have been at least 15 PHP house brews available and another 15 or so guest taps including nationals/regionals such as Sierra Nevada, Firestone Walker, and Odell. There were locals as well.

Food was solid as Da Boss enjoyed her salad and i enjoyed a personal size pizza that was good.

Overall i appreciate the Texan BA's recommendation of this place. I recommend as well!

I really enjoying visiting Pinthouse on my visits to Austin. They always have a great selection of their beers and a good selection of guest taps. I prefer the south location since they have Electric Jellyfish which is in my opinion one of the best IPAs in Texas at this time. The pizza is great and prices are very reasonable, I'd recommend the Armadillo. I find it nice that this location has lots of seating, TVs to watch games and its close to the highway.

Located in a small strip mall, the GF and I stopped by for a couple of beers and a pizza after a visit to the capitol building. Located in a small strip mal right near the hiway/freeway, the pinthouse is a pretty sizeable location, that reminded me very much of Pizza Port down in Carlsbad SoCal. It has a modernistic look and vibe, and there were a number of sizeable flat screen TV's spread around the restaurant, turned to various sporting events. Like pizza port, there are a bunch of picnic tables to sit at inside, and you stand in a single line to get your food and then your beer. The folks working here were friendly enough otherwise, and were happy to pour me a taste of anything I wanted to try (I was mostly interested in local, Texas beers of course). As for the beer selection, I think they had on around 10 or 12 of their own beers, and then 25 or so guest beers as well. The selection here wasn't as eclectic as what I encountered over at the Draught House, but it was still pretty decent. I ended up going with a glass of the electric jellyfish, which was tasty, easy to appreciate IPA. As for good, we got a couple of small pizzas, and both were terrific. They clearly take their pizza seriously here (might not be quite as good as the pizza made at pizza port, but it's a near thing), and we enjoyed both pies.

Another great beer destination in Austin that I wouldn't hesitate to visit again next time I'm in Austin.
