Sprawling place taking up much of an old building. Bier garden out back. Big horseshoe shaped bar, full bar too. Inside split up into multiple rooms. Limited taps. Decent quality, good service. Food available.

10 beers on tap, all their own and with a German flair. Styles ranged from lighter German styles (Helles, Pilsner, Maerzen), to brown ale, oatmeal stout, APAs, and IPAs. In other words: there's a style for pretty much anyone here. They also offer 5-beer and even 10-beer flights (for the bold).
The ambiance is quite nice; it's a relaxing, large building with decent volume.
The food really steals the show from the beer (which is solid but not impressive). Everything we had was unbelievably good and creative. I would come back here for lunch or dinner in a heartbeat - not for the beer itself, but the beer is good enough that I have no regrets in that area, either.

Big old Vermont country home with multiple rooms for dining and drinking. Beers are very good with a decent selection. Full food menu, and very good as well.

Went here today with a friend. I had three of there beers, which were all good. The beer & wine was reasonably priced, & the food was good. Nice outdoor bar area, beautiful decor inside.

Cool spot in downtown Stowe with a large outdoor bar area, a cool indoor bar area, and two other pretty sizeable dining areas. We sat at the inside bar due to the weather, would have loved to sit outside, but what are you gonna do? The service was excellent, the beers were pretty good. Their vanilla porter was awesome, it reminded us of one of the original Saranac beers that made us fall in love with dark beers back in the day. The rest of the beers were pretty decent and the food was pretty good too! Loved their growler fill policy - they filled up our 128oz and didn't even bat an eye about it. Overall, worth it, we'll be back next time we're in town.

Walked up to the outside patio seating area on a busy Thursday evening. Asked for a table for two. Hostess says: "it's going to be 15 or 20 minutes. You can get a drink at the bar". We went over the large outdoor bar and every single seat was taken. I walked back up to the host and told him it was full. I said, where should we go to wait...
He says: "oh, I actually just had a cancellation... Come this way". You gotta love it.
Good and service was excellent. Expensive. Quality taps. I took home a four pack of their most excellent Zog's APA.

Multi room larger restaurant and bar along the main area of Stowe...just a few minutes down the road from the ski lifts. Respectable beer options and food that I was told was "hit or miss" and "nothing special" (It can be hard to find steady and quality cooks in a ski town)
The highlight here is the outstading outdoor space on the back side...if you are lucky to be in town during spring, summer or fall...this back yard with a large bar area, tables to eat at, chairs to relax in and enough green grass to play a lawn game upon is truly a delightful oasis.
Worth checking out, especially when its outdoor drinking and dining season in the green mountains.

On the grounds of where "The Shed" brewpub originally stood, Crop Bistro Rose from its ashes. Name change occurred with new ownership and now it is "Idletyme Brewing Company."
After a cold snowflaked morning spent in Stowe, a buddy was running in the Heady Trotter race, he and I stopped in this nice and cozy brewpub. I had two beers, that were quite good, though I probably would have wanted them in warmer weather. A cherry session ale and their new version of a hefeweizen sitting at 4.9%. My smoked trout dip was phenomenal! My Reuben sandwich kicked ass! They put jalapeno peppers in it which enthralled me more. While the prices seemed the norm for the Stowe area, it's definitely not a place I could hit up all of the time. As much as I liked experience here, I wish I could have seen the place when it was The Shed or even Crop Bistro.

Let me say first off, I really like Doubletyme, their Imperial IPA. I was staying at a hotel a block away, and I went here for food and drink at the end of a long day of beer hunting. The food was good and I was enjoying the Doubletyme's. Perfect for my needs. Came back a year later around noon on a beautiful August day and everyone was out back around the outdoor bar. I really wanted to just sit down and enjoy a few beers, but I had other tasks ahead of me. If you are in Stowe, check this place out.

What a great spot! Outstanding outside deck area and outside bar. Beautiful setting, solid beer and good food. Definitely worth checking out when in town for Heady.

Crowded restaurant bar and crowd, service was ok. Food was very good for a brewpub; about 12 beers on tpa with 2 of the IPA's being pretty solid. Worth a stop in when visiting the Alchemist.

Excellent food, he had the burger and called it above average, I had the root vegetable salad with crab cake which was really excellent, tried 4 varieties of beer which were good/average, and then there's great service, would definitely go back!
