Orangey color. Leaves a sweet taste in your mouth. Great beer if you're wanting to really "get your drank on", because it goes down REALLY well. Blink and you'll be finishing your 6, blink twice and you'll be stumbling off to bed.
Great beer for the price, as long as you have a morning to give up, because you're not going to quit drinking it until it's gone the evening before.

I love this beer! It has been my house beer since the first time I tried it. Drink it regularly poured from a bottle or on tap at my local watering hole.
Appearance is a nice copper/amber color with an average head that doesn't stick around for long.
Taste and smell are great. Well rounded and smooth. If your a local too you'll hopefully understand what I mean by saying this beer still delivers that distinct Hudepohl taste.
Overall this beer is a good beer, I'm a fan (obviously). This tasty reasonably priced beer should put Hudepohl back on the map.
Side note: Hudepohl Amber is the only local beer currently offered at US Bank arena in Cincinnati. Also I saw Hudy Amber at the store packaged in cans this past week. Haven't tried it canned yet.

Amber color with some hint of orange. White head quickly retreats to a thin lace. Smell is caramel malt with no hops aroma at all. The taste is caramel and grains with minimal bitterness. The finish is slightly sweet. Mouth feel is very smooth and the carbonation quite subtle. Overall this is a nice easy to drink beer that is certainly worth a try.

Clear, light amber in color, with a thick tan head and no lace.
Grainy aroma -- malty and toasty.
Taste is also toasty, slightly sweet. Certainly richer and more full-bodied than most traditional American lagers. Not a bad beer at all, and a wonderful middle ground between lagers and ales. A solid go-to session drink!

Clean light amber hue with virtually no surviving head. Barley, caramel malt and some nuttiness on the nose. Stronger barley grain tones on the palate with an even stronger nutty roasted pecan and caramel malt. Very light and overly carbonated feel. Much more complex than I expected, it was not helped by a thin carbonated feel.

12 ounce bottle. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours a clear amber color with an inch off-white head. Lacing and head retention are both good. Aroma is bready and sweet malt, along with a little bit of caramel. Taste is similar to the aroma, the brew tastes like bready and caramel malt, and a bit of hops are noticable, too. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's crisp and refreshing. Drinkability is pretty good, it's smooth and goes down very easy. It wouldn't be hard to drink quite a few of these at a time. For the style of beer this is, it's good.

12oz can poured into pint glass.
Pours apricot orange with thick white head. Lots of carbonation throughout. Aroma is very sweet. Lots of malt coming up the nose. Ambers always seem sweet to me, but this is sweeter.
Like the smell, the taste is super sweet malt. Touch of hops in there too but mostly just sweet. It is very bubbly as well, carbonation is thick and heavy. While not the best amber I've had it is worth the price of admission. I got this on close out for 3.99 a 12 pack of cans. That's really hard to beat.

12oz bottle
Served in a pilsner glass
A - It pours a nice clear amber color. It is topped with two inches of white head.
S - The aroma is caramel with some adjunct smells in there as well.
T - It is a simple tasting beer with some sweetness from the caramel malt. Clean, crisp finish.
M - Pretty thin
O - It's a moderate to decent beer. I was craving something light and easy drinking and it hit the spot. It would be a good tailgating beer.

This is a loving tribute to not only the Hudepohl brewery, but to the reinheitsgebot roots of the thirsty immigrants who made it famous.
A copper colored pour with a malt presence usually found in a well made Vienna style amber. A bright flavorful palate, with an expert use of hops to counter balance any excessive sweetness. Deliciously drinkable with a remarkably clean finish.
For those who believe this some marketing bridge between larger brewing concerns and smaller ones, all I can say is, this beer's quality and character speaks for itself.

Hudepohl Amber Lager has a thin, slightly off-white head, a mostly clear, red-amber, bubbly appearance, and a fairly heavy lacing left behind. The aroma is of slightly sweet, slightly bready, slightly yeasty, and slightly sour malt, all of which make it interesting. Taste is of those elements, with an odd flavor, that reminds me of vegetable soup that has higher-than-average tomato content. Mouthfeel is light and creamy, and Hudepohl Amber Lager finishes crisp and refreshing.
