Pours a clear caramel copper color with minimal beige head that dissipates into almost nothing.

Kettle caramelization dominates the aroma, with toasted breadcrust at the backbone, and a bit of grainy/corny character at the finish. There's a touch of herbal hop and a hint of citrus.

Flavor has an underlying citrus character throughout, but is primarily toasted bread and caramel malt. There's initially some malty sweetness, with the finish becoming somewhat dry and a little bitter.

Body is moderate, with fairly low carbonation, and a slightly astringent finish.

Overall a decent example of the style. The flavor lacks some of the melanoidin character promised in the aroma. Not on par with some of the classic examples, but very drinkable.

This brew is an almost fiery deep copper. A small tan head makes an effort, getting to almost a finger in height before falling away. A little is left at the edges and some spotting makes it onto the glass.
The smell has all the makings of a Marzen, but it leans light and loses some of its punch. it is nicely malty with a light hops balance, leaning malty as traditional versions do, with bread and caramel and a fruity addition as well.
Give it some time to warm and the flavors come out. It's pretty much the same as with the aroma, but more of the fruitiness, a bit of grains underlying, and slightly more of the hops presence is noticeable.
I give the feel some time, as it starts off a touch over-carbonated. I'll give it that it's crisp. A bit of smoothness does peek through but is pushed back down by the bite. After time, it's still a bit too brisk.

12oz bottle.

A- Pours a clear dark copper color with a thick foam head that leaves nice rings of lace.

S- Caramel malt and sweetness in the nose. Pleasant but not very strong.

T- Very nice toffee and caramel flavors throughout with a sweet finish. Malty and rich with some underlying flavors (chestnuts, toasted bread, and butterscotch) coming through as it warms.

M- Medium bodied with slightly low carbonation that works for the style. I'd guess the ABV at around 5%.

O- This beer is surprisingly tasty. I've had most of the Hudepohl beers and this one is hands down the best.

A - dark copper color with some lacing.
S- good and malty
T- malt with nice flavor of toffee and carmel. This highlights the type of oktoberfest i like
M- medium body
O- this is better then expected. Bought this as a single bottle and ended up being about the best of the 3 Cincinnati oktober beers tonight

Was going to Cincinnati for a Bengals game and did my homework on what beers to be on the outlook for, and this was one of them.

Fortunate to get the last six pack on the shelf at Party Town in Florence, KY, I've had this chilln' in my man room fridge since last nite.

Poured into my Weizen glass, and paired with some Johnsonville bratwursts off the George Foreman Grill, I'm finding this to be the best after-work snack.

As previously stated in another review of this beer.. WOW !!! .. this beer looks, smells, and tastes like an Oktoberfest brew.

Kinda disappointed this wasn't brewed in Cincinnati, rather contract brewed in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Oh well still a very good representaton of the style.

Poured from bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: Deep copper color with a nice head that leaves behind some lacing as it fades.

Smell: Like an Oktoberfest should.Malty, slightly sweet and caramel aromas.

Taste: Tastes as good as it smells, sweet caramel and malts.

Mouthfeel: Medium body and reasonable amount of carbonation.

Overall: Very well done and very enjoyable Oktoberfest. And the lowest priced Oktoberfest I have found. It may not be the equal of Great Lakes or Harpoon Oktoberfest but for the money a darn fine beer. Worth seeking out.

The best beer ever to bear the name of Hudepohl!

A: dark copper, almost brown. Decent head.

S: not overly strong but toasted almond, with a bit of Carmel. Yum. What you expect to smell on an Oktoberfest.

M: medium to light body. If there is a knock on this beer it would be the carbonation. The bottle I had could certainly do with less carbonation.

T: Great malty sweetness that gives way to a smooth hop flavor. Smooth all the way to the finish. Great toasty nutty flavors and a touch of sweetness in the middle.

Not overdone here! Great classically styled Oktoberfest. Really impressed with this beer. Gets better as you go. Every bit as good as the more expensive brands. This one is less sweet, but well balanced and true to form. Good job Hudy. Good efforts of late.
