Really love this spot and I hope they're able to expand both their space and beer concepts/variety. Refreshing to find a cask option in a taproom and the environment is perfect to me: metal/punk music playing, great service and deals on beers, flights and snacks and every time I've been there is pretty laid back/low profile. At first I came here because it was tough to get into Nightshift, since then, I made it my obligation to show up at Bone Up regardless.

When this brewery first opened about five years ago, I was initially skeptical of it. How could it compete with Nightshift which is literally a block away? I visited once around the time of its opening, and then more or less forgot about it. But I was a snob back then, and Nightshift, in my opinion, is getting too big for its britches. I returned yesterday afternoon at noon with a more open mind, and really enjoyed it. This place has a comfortable vibe, pleasant servers, and good beer. Does it have all the bells and whistles that Nightshift does? No, and that's a good thing. The beer is the focus here.

Small, friendly and fun. Excellent beer and selection. Find the hippos!

Very cool spot in Everett. The day I went was nice out so the doors were open and there was outdoor seating available. The tap room was not very busy at that time but the service was very slow. The beers I had there were delicious! I really think this is a gem of a brewery! Must stop.

Cool little spot- what it lacks in quality of the beer it makes up for in the character of the taproom- would definitely hit again.

When compared to Night Shift (just 100 meters away), this place is shockingly different. It is small, quiet and very informal. (Night Shift is also informal but there's a door check and no bar).
You can tell this is a smaller operation, the start seems to appreciate their customers for "simply being here". So, the atmosphere is far more convivial and warm. Normally, I don't compare pages head-to-head, but the proximity and remote location makes it hard not to note the stark contrast.
Initially, it was sad because the small room was empty, but it filled in nicely.
The offering was 13 brews including one on cask. The range is excellent from lighter Saisons and Wits to Porters and Sours.

Bone Up is basically down the road from Night Shift.
Very small taproom, kind of like someone's living room, but with a bar. Situatued kind of strangely inside another building, the taproom itsel was really cool and cozy.
Selection of beer was good, I think about 9 taps. Quality was good, but not terrific. Like someone else said here, it seems like they go for people getting in to craft beer, with offerings that are fairly simple and mild. Maybe they are just trying to find their niche.
Service was very good, friendly bartender who was happy to talk about the beer and the brewery.
Pretty cool place overall, but cannot compete with Night Shift in the beer department. I will be back though, to see their progress, whenever I'm in town next.

The tasting room is small and intimate and they had (9) beers on tap. Located in a warehouse/industrial section and reminded me of something I'd encounter in the Soho section of NYC which is pretty cool. Alot of good metal piped over the house system and we even walked out with a complimentary CD with favorite selections of the owners. Instead of using a slab of wood, sample glasses are served sitting in a muffin tin.

I love a place that is willing to play metal music in their taproom. The place is very tiny. They have several beers on tap. The service was very good. The selection of beers they had were decent. They're still new and have room for improvement. Overall it's an ok place.

Very cool little place, loved the decor and feel inside. Good little selection of beers and games to play in the taproom. Really like this place and can only seeing going from strength to strength. Will definitely be heading back soon.

Real cool, small taproom. From the floor up to the bar to the over hanging light, the place it good looking. Great vibe. Service was a little slow, but only 2 people working there is to be expected. The beer is kind of a bummer. a lot more misses than hits. Great select and variety of beers, but most aren't worth drinking.
Here is the big take away. This to me, is a brewery focusing on people that are just getting into craft beer. The flavor of their beer is mild and slightly watered down. Real nice, small, cozy taproom that you want to drink beers in, but probably won't. It's tough because a 1 minute walk away is Night Shift, whose worst beer is better than their best beer.

Just visited their opening day at the brewery. Since Bone Up is just starting to get off the ground I hope that I can update this review at a later time with a better score but for now here it is.
The small space that they have outfitted for a tap room looks really great. Lot of warm wood accents everywhere and the bar top itself is beautiful. The intimate space allows for great conversation between small groups and allows others to engage in conversation with other patrons to create a community vibe.
Bone Up was able to fit in a bunch of arcade cabinets in one room and gives it that much more of a great feel. Not into arcades? There are card and board games around and even a chalkboard for kids.
The service was a little rough but it may have been due to not knowing what to expect on opening day.
Now the selection is where it breaks down. There were only 5 beers to try. I truly hope this changes within the next coming months so that I can truly have a reason to go back. Not a killer selection of beers and with only one that I could really see myself enjoying would not make for good visits.
I'm rooting for you guys but until then I do say Good Luck!
