Had on tap. Cloudy somewhat darker yellow body with a fat finger of cream colored foam, spotted lacing. Huge belgian yeast with floral, musty and grassy tones in that order in the nose. Taste has that plus some orange zest and smooth malt but with some booze leakage, nose was way more potent in a good way though. Feel is soft, yeasty and frothy, but the finish is underdone

From a 16 oz can. Pours a slight hazed light copper color with an off white head. Smell is spicy and funky with coriander and lemon Taste has fresh white fruits like apple pear and grapes. Mouth feel fresh and funky with spice and some tartness.

6er of 12oz cans bought at Apollo Liquor in Rochester, MN. Opening the beer, it is hold-it-over-the-sink carbonated. There was no other reason for it to foam up like that. I'm not gonna bitch about that so much because it tells me it's a real micro. Carbonation levels are the most common problem for real microbrews
Drinking from the can. To the nose, it is yeasty and has lots of floral hops. The can says 8.2% ABV. It's not really "boozy" to the palate. Taste is closer to a Saison than a Belgian. Overall, it's a pretty damn good strong ale!!

2017 notes:
Clear, bright golden coloring, slim, lasting white head above.
In the nose: Belgian funk prevails.
In the mouth: Very strong Belgian yeast character that veers dangerously close to that band-aid-y phenolic funk mess that I detected in the last L & L bottle I tried. This slight flaw disappears quickly, and what we have left is the bubblegum, the slight spice, the fruity funk and wonderfully weird world of the Belgian strong golden ale that this brew is attempting to impersonate. And it's doing a fairly good job.
I like this. It ain't bad.

Marigold pours a golden color, with not much head. Nice spicy aroma, sweeter. Flavor is a bit sweeter, spicy, but good strong flavors, and a nice hint of booze near the end. Good body and feel. Overall, tasty and easy to drink.

Picked this up due to the good reviews on BA. Pours a nice straw colour, with small foam that dissolves quickly. Faint yeast smell, taste is a yeasty/slightly bitter taste, not inoffensive! Dryness on the tongue as well, finishes dry but full. Very good!

Hazy copper body capped with a slim beige head. Lacing is spotty. Aroma is a little dusty and a lot phenolic. Some fruity esters as well. On the palate there's a sweet biscuity malt base with phenolics and esters working over it. Fruitiness like pears and apples come through loud and clear. Lightly carbonated and medium-full bodied this beer is decent if not great.

Lakes and Legends Marigold pours a clear reddish gold color. There is no head. The aroma has some nice yeasty notes with some barnyard, and flower bed. It is rather simple, but pleasant nonetheless. The taste has none of the yeasty notes that are present in the aroma. Instead, it is full of caramel, and doesn't taste like a Belgian style beer at all. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with absolutely no carbonation. Overall, this is a pretty bad beer. If they would fix the carbonation issue, and bump up the flavor to align with the nice aroma they would be on to something. As is, this beer should be overlooked.

sort of like a tripel meets a belgian pale, this one has a lot going on, but is predominantly lead by the belgian yeast which is at once fruity and spicy, everything from golden raisin to green apple through to white pepper and coriander, its all happening. its golden and pretty to look at, rather clear and very lively on the white head. it leaves cool lacing as i sip on it, and it smells herbal and clean and sexy. the flavor of the yeast is fantastic, peppery and dried fruity, it works well with the slightly sweeter malt base, notes of honey and peaches there, with a relatively hoppy finish that sort of rises up out of nowhere. i like the finish, drier for the style, and bitter and grassy from the hop dose. complex and very well made, this has a nice frothy feel to it, short of creamy, but fuller bodied and brightly carbonated. not too strong either, some of these get way up there and then all fusel and hot, this one stays mellow all the way through, even when it warms up. really solid take on the style, one of the better american made belgians i have had in awhile.
