Notes / Commercial Description:
It’s on. It’s time to get started. To crank things up. To get loud.

That thumping you feel in your chest isn’t your imagination. It’s your heart. It’s life. It’s the rockin’ tunes. It’s your inspiration wanting to break out. It ain’t gonna sit there waiting, so mutherf**king grab it.

This is a Collaboration in the truest sense between two entities that were born on the fringes. We’ve navigated life from a different perspective. We imagined things differently from what they were, and set about using our art to change the world according to our vision. We started being misunderstood by many, and loved by few. Today that’s the same...but that ‘few’ has become ‘more.’ A LOT more. That’s you, my friend, and we’re stoked you’re with us on this journey.

The day is winding down. It’s time to get started. No more waiting. It’s time to get LOUD. It’s time to Enter Night.

Nothing screams rock music, hard core lifestyles and a shell of hardness that cannot be broken like a flimsy-ass pilsner. And that's the beer that's bred from the minds of Stone Brewing Company and Metallica, apparently.

Nearly bright in clarity (man, I haven't said that about a beer recently) and topped with an arid white froth, Enter Night pours bright as day. Dainty floral notes bring a flowery bouquet to a scent of grain, grass and fresh bread. Lightly malty early on, the taste of pilsner malt is front and center with light breads, faint honey and a hint of cereal.

In northern German fashion, the malt sweetness falls off quickly as the ale prefers the noble German hop complexities that develop from a floral upstart and toward a spicy grassiness that's remiss of lemongrass and eventually lemon pepper. Hints of apple esters and a fine sulfur character shows a typical lager-ness before the late palate trends assertively bitter with fresh grasiness and a piquant hop bite.

Medium light in body, the beer's utmost dryness and high sense of drinkability wins over the palate. Its nearly militant carbonation brings a racy texture that contends with the lingering malts well. Dry, refreshing and easy on the palate, the beer extends with an herbal and grassy aftertaste long after the malts have expired.

Great artwork on the can. It is a nice night beer, especially on a hot night.

Look: semi-clear golden with a thick white head

Aroma: biscuits, floral hops

Flavor: It's biscuits, it's hoppy for a pilsner, citrus/floral/pine, a bit of IPL, it's otherwise light like a pilsner.

Feel: light to medium body

16oz canned 1/31/19 (43 days ago) poured into a Stone nonic pint glass at fridge temp 5.7% ABV. The beer pours brilliantly bright straw yellow with nearly white head. The head recedes to single layer of bubbles and leaves a little lacing. The aroma is minimal with slight malt and hints of citrus & floral hops. The taste is a flash of pils malt initially rolling into a hoppy middle with floral, citrus and earthy hop flavors evident. The finish is medium bitter, earthy and mostly dry with just a touch of the pils malt keeping it from being totally dry. No off flavors or flaws. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied and adequately carbonated. Overall, very good. This is a very nice German pilsner that is extremely clean, albeit on the edge of bitterness for the style (I've had German pilsner just as bitter). The touch of citrus is a bit distracting for me, but it is really subtle.

On tap. Poured out a clear, straw-yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of caramel, grains and floral notes. Sweet caramel and toffee taste with a snappy bitterness.

Pours translucent straw with a finger of white foam. Head retention is decent. Aroma is crackery, biscuity malts, straw, and very light spicy and dank hops. Flavor profile brings the spicy hops forward in addition to a little sticky resin and herbal. Malts are still light and crackery. Mouth feel is crisp with a frilly edge that takes away a little of the refreshing quality. Overall, nearing on crisp, it's still a tasty pilsner, but loses a little favor for more refreshing options.

Draft. Reviewed on phone.

Clear yellow-gold in color with just a bit of haze. This beer has a soapy head and a wonderful appearance. The smell has a very hoppy, intense citric and floral note. The taste is spicy, with plenty of pale malt. Full in flavor and enjoyable.

16 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 2/1/2019. Pours fairly crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malts and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big lemon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great robustness and balance of pale malts and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors with no fruity/yeasty notes. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.7%. Overall this is a delicious German Pilsner. All around great robustness and balance of pale malts and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and pretty refreshing to drink; with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Very flavorful for the style and ABV. Perfectly balanced clean pils malts, and earthy German noble hops. A very enjoyable offering. Mostly just another gimmick Pils; but it's really spot on for the style, and quite impressive.

$ 2.00 (Including tax)/16 oz can ($ 0.125/oz) from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. Reviewed 3/2/19.
“CANNED: 10/05/18, ENJOY BY: 03/04/19” stamped on bottom of the. In reefer at distributor. Stored upside down at 42 degrees and served at 42 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 4.
Body – Yellow, hazy. When held to the light, it becomes translucent.
Head – Large (Maximum 5.2 cm, aggressive center pour), white, medium density, average retention, diminishing to a lacy five to eight mm ring and a thick partial layer. Head retraction leaves behind some small islands of lacing.
Lacing – As the level drops, some excellent lacing remains, consisting of about equal parts of small, medium, and tiny bubbles, almost forming a classic “torn curtain” configuration.
First pour – Light yellow, hazy.
Aroma – 3.5 - Grassy and some slight citrus
Flavor – 4 - Begins nicely bitter with subdued grass and citrus, followed by some biscuity aftertaste. The bitterness remains long after the flavor has departed. No alcohol (5.7% ABV), no dimethylsulfide, no diacetyl.
Palate – 3.25 – Medium, watery, lively carbonation.
Impression and interpretation – 3.75 – Glad I was able to enjoy this before it turned on 3/4/19. I’m not a big fan of pilsners, but this iteration causes me to want to try more.
