Coming from a 22 ounce bottle on to the beer;
let's make this short and sweet, this is a very dominant coffee tasting porter. It's a black colored beer with fluffy head and good lace. Coffee and mocha dominate the aromas. Meanwhile the taste is very dominate with the coffee, with just a kiss of the porter mixed in. Good for the coffee lovers who wants just a little beer.

By far the worst craft beer I've had. Would not wish this on my enemy. I've Never ever done this w any beer, but I actually dumped more than half of the bomber down the drain. I really tried to find something to like about it. Not sure how it won a medal. Maybe it was the only beer competing that year.

This is by far the worst craft beer that I've ever tried. Really disappointing!

Inoffensive is the best word to describe this stout. It sure tastes like Kona coffee, but it lacks a lot of kick and taste. It's pretty light for a stout, and I found myself gulping this down pretty quickly. There's nothing strong coming from this beer other than the coffee flavor.

On tap at the brewpub.
A: a very durable creamy tan head leaves some sticky lacing. Clear but nearly opaque dark brown.
Aroma: mix of medium- and dark-malts with light-roasted coffee.
Flavor: Mix of medium- and dark-malts with light-roasted coffee. Excellent balance between the coffee an the malts. Faint hop presence.
Feel: near medium body with medium soft carbonation.
O: well-crafted coffee porter.

Bottle from this new to me brewery.
A very dark brown with a dense, brown head with solid retention and lacing, this looks good. The nose is plenty of creamy coffee, toast, caramel and toffee. Not as roasty as I like my porters. The palate opens with sweet creamy coffee with chocolate, a very mild fruity acidity and a mild roasty flavor. The mid palate is unfortunately a little watery. Drying on the finish with a mild roast flavor and fruity coffee, this beer is solid. Not as robust as I like my porters to be but solid nonetheless.

Pours an almost opaque super dark orange-brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and coffee bean aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and brewed coffee flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a solid coffee presence that makes this one much better than the base beer (Moonstone Porter).
