Greatness lives on the edge. The Borderland IPA pays tribute to the great towns, states, and countries that are separated by the 42nd parallel. The Borderland IPA boasts a heavy use of Amarillo, Citra, and Simcoe hops to provide the tropical fruit aromas of pineapple, stone fruit, peach, citrus, and mango. Drinkable and refreshing with a strong fruit finish.

Since I live on the 42nd North parallel, too, I had to pick up a 4-pack of pint cans at my local supermarket last week. Beautiful new label is not the one pictured here from generallee's upload. I'd say the new label is better, featuring the motto "find your parallel," and noting the citra amarillo mosaic and simcoe hops used. Also the ABV, 72 IBUs, and 16 oz in the pretty great-looking can. I suspect the teensy "02/28" dot-matrixed on the can's bottom rim may be the canning date, tho that's not made explicit. Poured into a pint Spiegelau IPA glass, I get a huge white dense head that lasts a long time, leaving perfect lacing all the way down. Color's a turbid whiteish orange, SRM color # 6. The smell's an excellent fruity floral hopjoy. Taste's just as good. Good bittering, with a lingering tanned tongue feel I appreciate in a proper IPA. Carbonation's just right, with a mouthfeel right smack dab where IPAs belong: clear tight nicely biting fizz with a lasting hop finish. For sure I'll be seeking this neighboring town's excellent ale next time my fridge has room for more great IPAs. Top shelf!

Can purchased and drink at 42 North Brewing Company in East Aurora, NY.
This one pours a dark-ish orange color, with a small head, and a lot of lacing.
This smells unfortunately malty, pine astringency, orange marmalade, and grapefruit. It feels like your typical run of the mill IPA that's been aged for a little bit too long.
This is medium bodied, slightly astringent, with a lower level of drinkability, as it feels just a hint syrupy on the back end.
I didn't love this one. It just felt a bit messy to me.

Weak, thin taste and mouthfeel. Not a very good NEIPA imo.

Looks beautiful in the glass, hazy golden/caramel color. Doesn’t deliver. Thin, watery, no finish. Very sad ☹️

Nice deep golden color. Good two finger creamy white head from a growler. The aroma has hints of fruit and pine, but gentle. Very smooth to drink with a heavy feel in the mouth. Somewhat weak after taste for an ipa.
