32oz crowler poured into a pint glass

L - Milky light orange color with a decent amount of head on pour
S - juicy tropical fruits along with some dank hops
T - mangos, wet grass, pineapple, citrus bitterness
F - Very moderate body, not overly bitter and flavors blend well

Amazing beer. My first offering from Civil Society and I'm going to enjoy this 32oz until the end!

A hazy, cloudy beer that looks like white grapefruit juice. The smell coming off the beer is amazing. It smells like grapefruit juice with some orange and a hint of sweet caramel all blending with pine. The taste is sweet up front with a lot of grapefruit and some caramel sweetness that finishes with an awesome bitterness of pith and pine. Velvety smooth mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. This is a damn tasty brew.

Let me start by saying all of Civil Society's IPAs I've tried are good. This one just isn't one of their best. The hops were just a little flat (uninspiring) and I don't think fresh should be the name of it because of all the beers I've had from CS this was the least fresh. I'll try it again. Maybe it's an older batch and the hops have faded.

Tried the beer again and sure enough this batch is fresh. Better aroma and cleaner hop profile. Very good IPA among great IPAs at CSB.

this beers pours super hazy, turbid yellow in the glass with barely any head that lingers. You do get some webbing from the initial pour at the very top. Smell is dank is light citrus. I got notes of guava when it was cold; you get more mango and citrus overtones with a generalized sweet tropical fruit as it warms. The taste is not as complex as the smell and you get more of the dankness coming through in the taste; not so much the fruity nature of the beer. Its feels a nice medium thick with a slight less than average carbonation for the style. I think the subdued carbonation works as it makes it feel more silky going down. Overall this beer is really good. Nose is on point but it does not entirely translate in to the taste.

Crowley filled at the brewery an hour or two ago..

Pours turbid, dull orange in color, puffy and fluffy off white large cap, leaves nice fields of lacing all over the glass..

Capital P Pungent citric fruit nose...oozing with pineapple juicy goodness.

Loaded....make that overloaded with pineapple, orange, grapefruit, mango....tropical fruity class NE IPA....happy to be able to visit the brewery today and pick up some of this nectar

Appearance: Arrives murky and goldenstraw colored with a modest head that fades to a ringlet; spots of lace

Smell: Really juicy aromatics, with orange, pineapple and mango tones

Taste: Orange mango juice forward, with pineapple and apricot building; passion fruit, pink grapefruit and a hint of lime and some citrusy elements, through the middle; juicy finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: One of the juiciest IPAs I have encountered; really good

Bright, bold and simply as citrusy as is expected from a beer of the sunshine state. Grassy, citrusy and tropical fruit frame the session with a sharp bite to boot.

Hazy and golden, the fine lacy beer sheds a creamy white crown with host of grapefruit, orange, pineapple, flowery and dried herb aromas. Its initial taste is biscuity sweet with mild caramel, honey and shortbread.

As the beer blooms on the middle palate, the identifiable fruit flavors emerge from the hops- pink grapefruit, tangerine, lemon and a hint of lime starts things off while the sweetness begins to retreat. The succulence of pineapple, passionfruit, apricot and gooseberry soon follow while the bitterness begins to mount. Grassy, leafy verbena accompanies a resinous taste of muddled pine needles to finish the beer with a sharp and acidic hop bite.

Medium-light on the palate, the beer's dry and crisp fruit impressions suggest a lightness in body. Bold carbonation facilitates further dryness with a peppery zing and a grassy astringency that's tucked nicely behind the bitterness. Long and bitter, the aftertaste is of pine and citrus rind.

It is great to still be impressed by the generosity of the beer community. This can was given to me by folks at a tasting on my way out the door without anything accepted in return. My thanks for sure. This review is from notes when I drank it a few days after the tasting, on the first day of summer. Poured from a 16 oz. can into a Cigar City goblet.

A: Very hazy golden-brown - almost muddy. A finger's worth of off-white head with average retention for a hoppy beer. Lots of small bubble carbonation. Some floaters in suspension at first, though these settle to the bottom of the glass. Not terribly pretty.

S: Citrus rind, orange pith, and biscuit malts. Small bits of tropical fruit as well. Not inspiring, but nothing objectionable here.

T: Orange, tangerine, and associated pith bitterness. A light pineapple and tropical fruits as well. Biscuit malt sweetness, and unfortunately some oxidation/light cardboard to the whole affair. More orange-y bitterness in the finish.

M: Medium body, low alcohol presence, and average to mildly low carbonation sensation.

O: I suspect this is one of the “affected” cans that there has been so much conversation about. Oxidized and the loss of any real “fresh” citrus character. Honestly, this can is a little subpar overall. No "off" flavors, but this fell far short of expectations. The Pulp can I acquired the same day did not have the oxidation issues. I would love to give this a second chance one day (after some apparent QC issues are worked out), and will update the review accordingly.

Really solid offering from an up and coming brewery! East Coast IPA with tons of bright fruit and citrus. Bitterness is balanced perfectly. This is a dangerously drinkable IPA and certainly one to remember

Crowler thanks to rudzud

Pours a big a big fluffy fizzy head that fades semi slowly, nice sticky lacing, slight hazy golden straw color.

Nose needs to warm a bit then opens, floral hops, little malt, with nice citrus tangerine orange juice, little tropical fruit passion fruit, bright fruit when it opens but so tight out front, would be much better if it was open out front, and even then it's light.

Taste brings malt notes out front, little floral grassy spicy hop out front, again as it warms some generic fruity flavors, touch citrus, some melon and stone fruit, bitter rind. Dry spicy hop finish, little earthy floral, bit more malt, long bitterness.

Mouth is med bod decent but lighter carb.

Overall not bad but def way too tight and needs to open, lack of carbonation may be to blame, or just the beer being cold crashed or something.
