landed in west palm beach and staying with relatives. My BA sources indicate a visit to Civil Society is worthwhile. Waze takes me some crazy ass way but I find it at the back of the street, next to the train tracks. Industrial building look with colorful murals on the back wall. walk up the stairs to a large open bar area with soccer ( Bundesliga ist gut!) on TV. Tables with folks and a few dogs . Refrigerator with 4 packs to go. Good brewery, nothing too special

Great space with amazing art on the walls, plus you can see their barrels just sitting and making something delicious happen... Amazing beer (fresh and far far were my favorites, as a matter of fact, they were the best new beers I've tried in quite a while) and a good variety. The first person that came to us when we sat down wasn't overly helpful but the second person was. They could use another beer board or at least a printed sheet of what they have because it's tough to see the board from certain spots but I will visit again if in the area and I would be soooo happy if they were my local!

This is in a great location right off of I95 in Jupiter, FL. They have 10 or so of their beers on tap most of which are IPA's with the occasional saison or stout. There is a nice seating area with couches as well as tables for larger groups. You can see right into their production brewery and all the goings on there. Great place to spend some time, and the fact that they make the best hoppy beers in Florida doesn't hurt either.

Large, inviting and roomy spot with more room to stretch out outside.....just a block or two from the Cardinals and Marlins spring training location...this place came highly recommended by a serious beer geek friend and it did not disappoint...over the top hoppy/turbid/tropical fruit bomb NE IPA beers...I walked away with a few crowlers of this tasty goodness....well worth a visit if you are local or passing by on route 95 between Miami and points north in sunny and sticky Florida

Nice airy taproom in a walking mall very close to Roger Dean stadium. Wound up parking a block away in a free garage.

Going on beer alone these guys strike me as the Other Half of the south, with a lineup dominated by assertively hoppy offerings. Unsurprisingly they're not nearly as hipster; the locale is sort of generic and commercial but clean and welcoming, with ample room at the bar and to mill about. Service was quick and with a smile and given by two attractive young women without a hint of attitude. Very pleasant place to spend some time and drink some top notch beer.

12 beers on tap, 5 in cans and maybe 3-4 others available in crowlers. One guest tap. 4, 8, and 16oz pours available for all or most, I think. I was driving and did tasters of six or so. I believe food was available but I'm not sure if that's always the case; I did not partake.

Highlight of my visit was grandparents coming in, checking their phones, and muling out cases of IPA cans. Ah, Florida.

This is a pretty big place for such a young brewery. The place has a long bar seating about 20. Then it has some sofas and chairs and then table tops that will seat almmost picnic style and outside seating. Music isn't blaringly loud which is nice. Staff were on their toes and did a nice job especially with all the requests for growlers. They have a lot of branded merchandise for sale beers are slanted toward IPAs.

Some of the best people in the biz. Low key, high quality, and fun to be around. You may have to wait a minute for crowler fills (as everyone wants to try these guys) and rightfully so. But I promise it's worth the wait. Can't wait to re visit.

Very large new brewery with good seating at the bar, TVs turned down (probably a decent place to watch sports), and some more open seating for larger groups (including outside seating). No food.

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

The beer was all over the map in terms of style. I found the flavored stouts very impressive. Their IPAs on tap during my visit all prominently featured dank hops, which are not my favorite (Amarillo, Equinox, etc.). The IPAs were well-crafted. Their tap list was relatively large, with a good number of their brews available at a given time. I would have liked to see more variety in the flavor profiles presented in their IPAs, as I don't know if they make one right up my alley based on one trip.

Among the better Florida breweries I have tried, without a doubt.

Florida hop heads.... Welcome to paradise!! Only open now for a few months but already killing the hop game in Florida by a long shot.. Best new brewery in Florida hands down and I'm not sucking up these guys just know how to make incredible beers. Pulp, fresh, $eeing green, juice are all monsters and then they have great hoppy juicy Saisons as well as browns and milk stouts. They just purchased some barrels so I'm excited to see what they decide to use them for.

Rad spot with painted walls and open space to view brewers brewing the dank ipas they will be known for! The vibe is a hair sterile but when they start making $ with their hoppy selections that will change! Hophead dream spot and crowlers for days!

If you're in Florida and you want fresh, delicious IPAs that are on par with the best east coast breweries then you have to check out Civil Society. I haven't had Pulp yet which is supposed to be amazing but Juice and Lil' Juice are world class. They also have a top notch saison and a coffee beer called Jupiter Rising that all the locals are telling me is great (haven't had it). The place is a typical somewhat stark taproom which serves its purpose but the people behind the bar do a very good job considering they are constantly filling crowlers. The guy sitting two seats down from me bought 6 crowlers and a guy at the end of the bar bought 18. Then, another guy who called ahead picked up a big box of them. The point is that this beer is in very high demand among people who know good beer. I'm looking forward to the Pulp release so I can try what is being called the best PA/IPA (not an IPA but supposedly drinks like one) to come out of Florida

Update 10/3/20 - Well, the brewery has been open for a few years now and even added another location. Unfortunately, however, the beer quality has gone continually downhill. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few beers/IPAs they still do very well, but most of their beers no longer compare to the NEIPAs coming out of breweries like Treehouse or Trillium. Not even close. My homebrew IPAs are better, much better. It’s very disappointing and seems to happen with a few breweries in South Florida. Why do these brewers stop caring about quality? Why do they put out subpar IPAs when they have the ability to do so much better? Where’s the pride?

I have been hearing lots of hype about these guys lately so I decided to take the hour drive up to Jupiter to see what all the fuss was about. I was delighted to see that they had a big selection of hoppy beers especially IPA's. These guys may only have been open for a few months but I believe that they already have the best IPA's in Florida. They have excellent and speedy service with knowledgable staff. They sell their beer in increments of 4oz 8oz 16oz as well as 32oz crowlers and they are more than happy to let you try whatever you want before you commit to any brew. I ordered a crowler of each of their IPA's to go, that's six different crowlers total. While I was waiting they offered me a free 4oz pour of "Juice" which is their signature Imperial IPA. Step asida Jai Alai and GF Sculpin! This brew totally Iived up to it's name and then some. I was totally blown away by the juicy, grapefruity, hoppy aromas that were billowing off this nectar of the gods. If I lived closer then this would be my go to stop for delicious hoppy goodness. If you live in South Florida and consider yourself a fan of IPA's then you owe it to yourself and your tastebuds to go and try the amazing hop elixers that these newcomers are brewing.

If you are in South Florida this is the new must see place. Even though they have only been open a few months Civil Society is putting out some amazing beers. A no frills place with ample seating and a great selection of beers, mostly IPAs. Lots of people have been comparing their stuff to some of the greats coming out of New England. Most times they have about 10 beers on tap and offer different pour sizes (4/8/16oz) at great prices so you can try a bunch of stuff in one visit. They also do crowlers to go so you can take home the goodness, no growlers at this time. If this place keeps it up they will definitely outgrow their current location quickly.

Florida has a new upstart IPA contender. These guys make the best IPAs (IMO) in the state.. They've only been open for a couple months, but it wont be long before they get recognized for the world class New England style hoppy beers theyre already making. I wish I didn't live 3 hours away.

They had 10 beers on tap - 8 of theirs and 2 guest taps. 4/12/16oz pours available for all beers, and Crowlers available of most of their own beers. Keep an eye on these guys, they're for real. #HopWizards

Pin from Chicago and have been there twice already. Got some Crowlers last night. Impressed with their lineup, especially since they have only been open for a month. Balanced ipa's, nice porters and a really good saison. Friendly and knowledge staff. Hope to stop by one more time before heading back north.
Oh yeah, I have a frenchie so I love their logo!

I revised my review on 4/30/15:
Civil Society Brewing is an excellent brewery located in downtown Abacoa, Jupiter, FL. It's a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with quick service focused on serving local craft beer. I found the selection to be solid and feel like they listened to my old review suggesting they carry a lager/pilsner. Yesterday they had a delicious guest tap pilsner from MIA! They have about 10 different beers or so, with another 2 guest taps. I tried Fresh (IPA) and Juice (DIPA) and thought both were juicy and super-fresh on my first visit. Since then I've come back again and again. I honestly think Pulp and Life Skillz are HeadyTopper/SipofSunshine/ToddtheAxman good. Another interesting beer, Jupiter Rising, is a brown ale using Oceana Coffee (which I love), coffee from a local roaster. Their prices are fair and competitive. Samplers and smaller sizes are available for purchase. They're a newer brewery who listens to constructive criticism and acts quickly. So they earned a better review!
