We have been here about 6 times for lunch, brunch, and dinner and have never been disappointed. Both food and beer get a 4.25 rating from us

V-Lariat Lodge is located a bit from downtown Evergreen on a hill above Bear Creek. The place is large and rustic with a woodsy feel. The best part about Lariat is easily the multi-level patio that overlooks the trees and creek below. This is one of the nicer spots to hang out a drink beer if you want a mellow, natural setting. Inside the building is a bar and many rooms with tables. The patio was full of locals and a few families when I visited on a Tuesday evening in the summer.

Q-I tried the hefeweizen and one of the IPAs. The IPA was pretty good; a moderately bitter, well-built beer with nice hop notes and good drinkabililty. The hefe was subpar and reports from my friends about the other beers were also mixed.

Ser-Our waitress was friendly and the service was reasonably prompt and attentive. The beers were all served in plastic mugs, however, and the pours had no head. Even the hefe lacked foam, which, was a bummer.

Sel-Lariat Lodge offers about ten house-made beers of varying American and Belgian styles. Most beers were typical brewpub varieties, e.g., amber, blonde, IPA, and lighter in ABV (although they did have a big Belgian golden on tap) and I did not see anything esoteric or unusual. No guest taps that I saw.

F-Lariat Lodge has a full dinner menu with a number of sandwiches and other casual fare. My wrap was pretty tasty and the gluttonous bacon-wrapped jalapeno appetizer was also good, but the house-made potato chips were underwhelming.

O-This is a really nice spot for relaxing with a beer. I would come back if I were in the area, but I don't think I would seek this place out because the beers were mixed.

Don't allow kids in here at the high tops. Never offered us a table, even though other families were there.

i loved this place, way up on the hill in evergreen, its got a real unique vibe, and its closer to denver than we all think. its got a lot of patios, a big beer garden, a dog friendly area, scenic views, awesome live music, but not much parking! packed inside on a friday afternoon, long waits for tables, seems like this might be the best show in town, and obviously worth waiting for, as many patrons were. they had maybe seven or so beers on, a mix of rather basic styles. the shandy was awesome in the summer, a couple of ipas were less impressive. the service was friendly, but entirely overwhelmed from the kitchen to the bar to the front of house, it was just totally too busy to be comfortable, and they all seemed stressed, definitely could use a few more bodies on deck. they had a string band playing that was amazing, and when we finally got our food, it was great. some killer smoked wings in thai chili sauce, and some beautiful caprese salad. the other food coming out looked amazing too, highlighted by one of the sexiest pork chops i have seen. nice breeze blowing through and wonderful mountain views create a very colorado atmoshere. the beer was honestly the weakest part of the whole thing, safe but crowd pleasing. still very much worth checking out. i will be back for sure, if just for that pork chop!

Visited the Lariat Lodge Brewing Company for the first time last night. It's located in an AWESOME, restored building perched enviably on a hillside overlooking downtown Evergreen - when you arrive (after driving through a circuitous neighborhood) you feel like you've discovered something secret. It's also located within a building designated as a historic place by the department of interior. I cannot explain how awesome the actual building and setting are. Tons of outdoor balconies will make this place incredible in the warmer months. Onto the beer...
Quality - only open for just more than a month, so I'm certain they're still tweaking their recipes, but the beers were alright. Certainly nothing I would return for. I tried an IPA (#3), and their winter beer. Both are unremarkable - the winter beer was slightly better than the IPA. Both were undercarbed. Hopefully they improve the beers brewed on-site. They also had some guest taps, but nothing you can't get down the street at any local liquor store.
Service - Great. Very knowledgeable and attentive waitress who obviously enjoyed working at Lariat. This looks like a fun spot to work, and she knew the menu very well.
Selection - Choice of about six beers (they were out of one of their IPAs, #2), plus two guest taps. Once they dial their beers this should improve.
Food - They really shine here. Their chef has done a great job insisting everything is made right, and from scratch (down to the ketchup). Reuben was great, as were the meatballs, and this place actually has Amoroso Rolls from Philly. Legit. Highly recommend the food - everything ordered was great.

Iron out the beers and this place will be a destination for everyone in Evergreen, and on the Front Range.
