Look: dark brown with thin brown sticky head. Aroma: lots of peanuts, caramel, slight burnt smell. Taste: similar to aroma with toasted peanut, caramel, and chocolate, lots of sweetness and slightly salty. Feel: thick and sticky. Overall: mantra definitely accomplished the goal of creating a beer after a candy, but because of sweetness, could not drink more than one.

First thing I noticed was how dark and rich it looked. My first whiff I thought I was smelling peanut brittle beer. Most milk stouts are onlt sublty sweet, but this one's sweetness is right in your face. Undeniable. I LOVE a beer with lots of body, stouts/porters are my favorites, but this one is thick like Nicki Minaj! Hard to complain about thick, since that's what I like, but this make Guiness look like a light beer. All I'm saying is that if you like milk stouts and sweet beer doesn't throw you off...make this your first'll be glad you did. It's delicious and unique, but you will definitely want something lighter after that. I bought a 64 oz growler of this and it's like drinking dessert.

Thanks goes out to Buck89 for this brew.

12 oz. Bottle

My first from this brewery.

Poured into a tulip a very nice dark brown color, with some nice carbonation, with a quick fizzy tan head, which leaves minimal sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, lots of milk chocolate/toffee/caramel, very nice touch of vanilla, some peanut, sweet, slightly toasty. The taste is really nice, lots of milk chocolate/toffee, very nice touch of caramel, awesome vanilla, with some peanut, very nice sweetness, kinda toasty. Medium body, ABV hidden very well with this brew, with a slight dry/bitter finish. Overall, this one really surprised the shit out of me, very tasty brew, really nice sweetness, freakn' candybar. Thanks John for the chance!

On-tap at the brewery, served in a snifter.

A- Dark brown, near black body with a frothy brown head. Awesome stick and head retention.

S- I understand there is a candy bar of the same name and this totally smelled like a deconstructed Snicker's bar. Chocolate, nuts, caramel, even something of nougat. Robust.

T- A liquid Snickers's bar, chocolate, slightly salty peanuts, caramel, the whole nine yards. Very flavorful.

M- Mod feel chewy

O- So flavorful and delicious. Could do a couple pints in a sitting. HIt's the sweet tooth.

Like snacking on a Goo Goo Cluster... Excellent translation of a Southern favorite... Chocolate, vanilla, peanuts...sweet without being cloying... Amazing beer...

A little more thickness would make this a world class offering

On tap at Sigler's in Chattanooga.
Pours essentially black and opaque. The head is short, tan and weak.
Exceptional aroma with hints of dark bread, vanilla, roast peanuts and faint wood.
The flavor is bitter-sweet with a near even balance of very dark roasted grains and peanuts.

Big thanks to Buck89 for this delicious treat from NBS BIF 5

It is black as night with a thin skim of tan head that quickly falls back to a thin ring and mostly bare cap.

Chocolate and coffee goodness, with hints of deeper roast notes as well make a superb bouquet

Taste is full flavored to say the least. It is sweet chocolatey coffee goodness that is thick and rich and delicious. As it warms light peanuttiness comes in. Vanilla was advertised but never really appears

Mouthfeel is full bodied, highly viscous, very low carb., with a finish that is a touch sweeter than desired. Other than this microscopic ding mouthfeel is perfect for the style.

Clean, sweet, delicious, and satisfying describe this beer. It is just short of dessert beer thick, but close. Highly enjoyable, highly recommended. What a treat!

A- Black with a small mocha head.

S- Caramel, peanuts, some chocolate, hints of vanilla, some sweet crackers.

T- Caramel, vanilla, chocolate, roasted peanuts, some roasted malts.

M- Smooth, medium body.

O- A great lower ABV stout, could be a little sweeter but very well done.

an extremely interesting beer this is, a milk stout with caramel, vanilla, and peanuts. nuts in beer has always intrigued me, and they are pretty intense in this, well ahead of the vanilla or the caramel, at least for my palate, and my first beer from these guys ends up being an awfully exciting one. i like the complexity the additives give the sturdy base, which is thick, sweet, very roasty, and very full bodied, it benefits a lot from the layers of flavors brought in, all which sort of occupy a different space in here, starting with the caramel that contributes an even buttery sweetness all the way through this, then the vanilla, which pops most in the center, natural and strong, even bringing up some alcohol in here, and finally the peanuts, which really come on mostly later, even after the swallow, shells and all, like boiled peanuts, i suspect they used real ones, and i suspect they were added to the kettle, not just post fermentation. i like that i get the earthiness and the characteristic nut flavor even though all the dark malt and residual sugar in this, they keep the beer grounded and somewhat drinkable, more than it otherwise would be anyway. nice depth to it, long finish, a little too sweet, but a fun and flavorful introduction to this brewery. really nice as a night cap, i could almost taste it all the way until morning! one of the better uses of peanuts i have known in beer...

Poured from 12 oz bottle into snifter.

A: Deep brown almost black with very small dark tan head that quickly settles to a thin ring around the edge. Some light lacing.

S: Peanuts dominate the aroma, and followed by chocolate and caramel.

T: Peanuts, milk chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. Maybe a touch of coffee at the end.

M: Full bodied with average carbonation. Creamy texture that brings marshmallows to mind.

O: I understand they were going for a Goo-goo cluster inspired beer, and I think they nailed it.

Pours a blackish dark brown. Very minimal head. Smells like a Snicker bar. No joke, this smells freaking incredible. I only eat candy when I'm going to fly and I'd buy a pint of this for my flight. There's notes of milk chocolate, peanuts, and a little roast. Some sweetness as well. For a 6% stout, this has a really nice mouthfeel. Even as it warms, it doesn't get too cloying. This is a really nicely down sweet stout.
