This northern Arizona favorite has a consistent nutty flavor with just a hint of spice in its depths. A slowly emerging bitterness crops up along the way and is unobtrusively incorporated into the smooth flow. It finishes with a gentle nuttiness and spiciness. Excellent with steaks, chops and ribs!

I can't fault the general sudsiness, but the head does dissipate rapidly. The color is quite attractive, and I'd call it more coppery than brown. The aroma does have a bit of coffee and
In the nut family, this make me think of piñon nuts. But it's more of the bitter shells than that rich sweetness. There is a dishwater sort of backwash to this. Buttery and quite mineral flavored. Some malty sugars finally emerge along with the woody taste. A slight bitter aftertaste.
This is kind of uninspired, even for the English style of Brown Ales. It seems technically alright, but that flat vegetable flavor is not so nice. If this was just 4% ABV, I'd be more charitable. From the 12 oz bottle bought at AJ's Fine Foods in Chandler.

A: The beer is brown when viewed from afar—when held up to the light it is clear and very dark red in color with a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short bright white head that died down, leaving a narrow collar of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of nutty malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has a subtle bit of associated sweetness along with faint hints of caramel. There is a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied and a bit thin on the palate and with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite nutty and has just enough underlying malts to mask most of the sweetness.
