341ml bottle, which really just looks like a Molson Canadian, save a different apple-oriented label branding. I've seen way too many people buying this stuff, strictly because 'they saw or heard the commercial for it'.

This beer pours a clear, very pale golden straw colour, with one fat finger of wispy, and mostly just fizzy dirty white head, which disappears in less time than it takes me to type this sentence, leaving nothing in the way of lace around the glass.

It smells of skanky, stale applesauce, bolstered by some table sugar and NutraSweet. The taste is pretty much the same - red apple skins and well overripe pome flesh, metallic sugar, a bit of corn sugar-laden grainy cheap lager um, 'support', and some orchard floor mustiness for good measure.

The carbonation is surprisingly active in its tight and awkward fizziness, the body medium-light in weight, buoyed as it is by sugars of various stripes, and smooth enough, I suppose. It finishes on the sweet, moderated side, still apple all the way, any of the base beer duly deputized to the cause.

In the end, more of a cider-like beverage, than anything remotely in the spectrum of beer. I wonder how much this actually differs from Molson Canadian Cider, at least in taste profile, since I've never had the latter. Whatever, a plain, not particularly enjoyable apple fruit beer - but then again, when have I actually had such a thing?

355 ml can. Is it a cider or is it a beer? Probably some of both.
"Premium Apple Lager, made with natural flavour, Alcoholic Malt Beverage"
Investigating the small print we see it is brewed by 'Mad Jack Brewing Company' but really Molson, Coors.
This beer poured clear, pale golden color, fizzy like a bad fountain drink but no head, retention or lace.
It does smell of some of some apples, but sugary and artificial. The taste is the same, apple flavor, but sweet.
As mentioned, fizzy mouth feel, light body.
Too me this was too sugary, artificial, and trying to be a cider. I have had better apple beers, and definitely better apple ciders.

473 mL can picked up at TBS; served well-chilled. Since the ingredients list includes both 'barley' and 'malt liquor', but does not contain 'apples' or 'cider', I think I can assume that it is correct to call this one a 'beer' (at least, technically correct - which is the best kind of correct) and add it to the database.

Pours a clear golden-blonde colour, topped with one finger of fizzy white head that vanishes as quickly as a soda pop's. No lace, no cap. Pretty sad-looking, with an aroma that includes a mixture of granny smith and oxidized red apple flesh notes. Very saccharine.

The flavour kind of reminds me of a green Jolly Rancher, mixed with canned apple juice from concentrate. Not particularly beer-like, as one would probably expect, with only a touch of graininess and corn syrupy sweetness coming through toward the finish. Palatable enough, but too sweet and it basically just comes off as apple juice concentrate with some water and beer mixed in. Thin-bodied, with aggressive carbonation typical of most macro lagers. Very easy to throw back quickly, and I'm not sure why you'd want to drink this any other way.

Final Grade: 2.65, a rather mediocre C-. Molson's Mad Jack Premium Apple Lager is an odd duck, and I'm honestly not too sure who they're targeting with this one. In reality, this beer only exists because TBS is not legally allowed to sell true cider, so they've devised this apple-flavoured beverage to sell there instead. I'd drink this again if someone else handed it to me, but I can't see myself buying this one again when there are plenty of authentic ciders (and apple-flavoured beers, for that matter) that blow this one out of the water.

355ml can poured into pint glass 18/6/16

A carbonated apple juice with massive bubbles no head or lace

S apple jolly rancher, sweet apple juice, more a sweet cider then anything, no "beer" notes whatsoever

T sweet cider, again I couldn't recognize any beer notes, all sweet cider and nothing else

M light bodied, flattens out after a fizzy cola like entry, sticky on the lips

O sweet, fake, apple notes, and that's abut it, something my wife would pour over ice

I'm struggling to call this a beer, I can't say its undrinkable but I'm surprised it has a place on this site
