A- This beer is a clear amber/red colour with hnts of copper. The head is decently thick, and has some moderate retention, eventually dropping down to a thick ring around the glass. It looks like there is a fair bit of carbonation as seen by the many bubbles rising and the fizzy sound the head was making as it dissapeared.

S- I like the aroma of this, just nice and sweet. The malts are pronounced, with maybe a little bit of the metallic smell that others are finding, but I had to really concentrate to find them. There is also a mild nutty aroma that is quite pleasant.

T- I always enjoy the flavor of this beer, with the bread, nuttiness, and honeyed malts that are noticeable. The hops are very mild, and the finish lingers on the palate for awhile after drinking.

M- This isn't as full as I once remember it but still, it has a medium body...it seems more watery upon intake but at the back of the throat it thickens up. It is also fairly carbonated, which I find pleasant personally for this particular beer.

D- I have enjoyed a schooner or two of this in a sitting before, and even though it isn't the lightest beer out there, it's great if you are looking for something with a rich flavor, but still retaining that refreshing aspect. Goes great with chicken wings BTW. I recommend this for anyone who is graduating from cheap run of the mill brews to something with a little more class! Definately the best of the Rickards family!

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left minimal lacing. It smelled of roasted malt, toffee and caramel. Solid malt backbone with caramel, toffee and a mild bitterness.

Always liked Rickard's Red, haven't had it for some time so was curious to try one again.

Lovely caramel-red colour, not much of an aroma. Good malty flavour, not much finish. Very drinkable.

Pleasantly smooth yet flavorful. Has a beautiful amber color when poured into a glass. Smell isn't bad, but not particularly remarkable either. It's my (personal) go-to when looking for a widely available red ale.

Bottle purchased from The Dixon in Mississauga, ON.

This one pours a medium amber/reddish color, with a small white head, and lots of lacing.

This smells pretty toasty, with a nice caramel aroma, and some light almost sourdough like aromas.

This is much better than I thought it would be. It’s not a world-beater by any means, but it’s got a bigger body, and more pronounced malt character than I would have expected, given Molson. It finishes fairly watery, but there’s a solid little subtle hop bitterness that keeps you coming back for more.

This is light bodied, but drinkable and pretty smooth.

I didn’t hate this one – I ordered it purely out of curiosity, and I ended up enjoying it.

This is a winter beer. A lot of people don't get that. Not every beer is made for a hot afternoon. This is at its best at the end of the day, on tap in a pub with a workmate prior to your food or your trip home. It has a welcoming taste you don't want to guzzle. It slows you down while you shake off the cold outside and realize your workday is OVER!

Not the first time we have had this, but first time on draft and the first time in a long time. Not much beats a cold beer sitting in the club house talking about your round. Rickard’s Red cup of malty goodness was today’s post round pint. It’s a bit sweet, but not overpowering. Malty like you would expect from a a red ale. Sam Adams brick red is probably the gold standard that we have had, but this certainly beats Killians. Too bad it’s no where to be found in the states

I love the beautiful rich colour of this lager. It's one of the first beers I learned to appreciate. There was a time that you couldn't get it and I was disappointed. Looks like it was brought back by popular demand!

The mixing of the barley makes the flavours difficult to pin down for myself. I'm still training my palate. Nice bitter after taste.
