25.4 oz can into bicentennial Mason jar.

A: Doesn't look that bad. Full one hand head on top of a golden color. Decent head retention and lacing.

S: Vodka and malts and grains, not so great.

T: Cheap vodka mixed with cheap American macro lager. Instead of the taste growing on me its getting worse. The first drink really wasn't that bad but as I near the bottom of my jar I just might be dumping the rest out.

M: Lots of carbonation with a light body.

D: Way too cheap alcohol tasting. I like regular Molson quite a bit, but not this one. Super Premium Beer it is not.

Molson XXX has a thin, stark-white head, a deep, golden appearance, lots of bubble streams, and a minimum amount of residual lacing. The aroma is bold- sweet grain and a faint hop sting. Taste is of sweet malt, whole kernel corn, and a subtle background hop bite. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Molson XXX Super Premium Beer finishes crisp, refreshing, sort of wet, corny, and surprisingly drinkable. This may be the smoothest high gravity lager on the market. No doubt, it's worth a try.

First beer I got drunk on. Stored behind my garage to hide from my parents for about 6 months before drinking. Beer was absolutely ruined, and it ruined me. It will always be a memory of the reason it took me another 5 years to get into beer.

A: snow white, fizzy foam forms on the pour, dies out to a thin, perimeter scum... sun-shiny amber liquid, crystal clear... occasional thin streak of lace

S: vaguely similar aromatics to a dry, spicy Belgian strong pale like Delirium... bit of that lightly-toasty, popcorny, curiously buttery pils malt note that some of those abbey blond knockoffs have... a bit pissy on the edges

T: oooh... hmmm... might have let this sit a couple minutes too long before popping the seal... dank, blanket spiciness with a low hum of rubbing alcohol to fill it out... there's a dry, powdery sort of quality to the malt, drop of brittle sweetness... strong aftertaste of dirty nickels and paperclips... spectre of dry apple juice late... the marginal deficit in malt sweetness matched with the metallic nuance and a bland, mildly clove-like phenol lingering in the finish groups this more with those purposefully-potent Belgian pales... dirty and metallic overall

M: relatively dry with a light-medium flow on the entry, rounds up a bit on the follow through... this really oughta be drunk quite cold...

O: well... not my favorite malt liquor... bit of a European approach to its constitution that works to a disadvantage here... it might be alright if the metal element was toned down - there's obviously something tasty hiding below - has to get through unobstructed

I'm a big fan of Molson Canadian, and so far, I think I'm the only one in my neighborhood who says that. At the liquor store I work in, nobody buys the twelve packs, and the only Molson product that moves is Molson Ice. Nonetheless, I had a friend who went to Canada pick me up a twelve pack of a Molson beer they didn't carry in the states and he returned with a twelve pack of Molson XXX. Had no idea Molson was also known to bulk-package their own signature malt liquor, but you can never predict beer nowadays.

The beer is your archetypal malt liquor, with a surprisingly heavy bottle boasting thick glass. It's a sweeter beer, with high tones of corn husk, sweetness, and a sharp alcohol bite that gives you 7.3% abv with no subtly whatsoever. It's gonna take me a while to get rid of this twelve pack, given I cannot session this beer. Not bad, but nothing special, and a sharp downfall from the greatness of Molson Canadian.

Poured from a 25.4 ounce can into a beer glass.

Appearance: The best feature of this beer is the head, hands down. Thick, yet airy, like a cumulus cloud. Dimples slowly down to meet the slightly darkened straw colored beer. Medium carbonation is visible. Not bad from the get-go.

Smell: Fresh popcorn, faint bitter hop aromas, very light malt base. Only a touch of alcohol is present in the nose. In that it is NOT unpleasant, I give it just a touch above average.

Taste/Mouthfeel: For a malt liquor, there's a lot of good flavor here. Beer starts out crisply, with some initial bitterness. As the beer warms on the tongue, the malt actually comes through with some subtle sweetness, almost a melon-like quality. Texture becomes slightly chewy, allowing for the flavor to be released. Aftertaste is almost non-existent, which I have found to be a positive quality with most malt liquors.

Drinkability: Cold, it's a great malt liquor. I'm not so sure how I would feel about it served at room temperature...so I won't wait too long to finish this brew.

Nice job Molson for making a decent Malt Liquor...a style renowned for its inability to achieve in taste what it achieves in ABV.

Well I was hoping for a decent offering from Molson and this comes pretty close, pours a deep yellow with not much head to speak of,aroma is lightly biscuity and grainy and some alcohol notes.Taste is slightly sweet and grainy but not much to it a lightly flavored higher alcohol brew but not much to it. Good for drinking with some bbq but not something to savor by any means.

Pours a pale amber/gold with a small foamy head.
Aroma of sour corn grain & diacetyl.
Peppery, caramel malt flavor but generally a lackluster overall flavor. Slick, sluggishly carbonated mouthfeel. All things considered, the drinkability is pretty poor.

11.5 oz brown bottle with no freshness date.

Thin lacing, clear and pale golden straw.

Faint cooked veggie smell with mild husk and faded industrial alcohol.

Alcohol is quick to the tongue, lots of dextrin and alcohol on the palate. Sweet grain and cereal grain with a processed hop bitterness. Rubbing alcohol? Malt twang, rough in the mouth towards the end.

Every-time I sip this beer I have violent vision of sweaty bloody Canadian hockey fans pummeling each-other. I watery beer with only one purpose ... to get drunk, sad beer has to be like this.

Bright and clear straw-yellow colored, with a big white head of tight foam that lingers longs.

Low aroma of corn, grainy sugar and floral notes.

Flavor of sweet and syrupy maltiness initially, followed by some mild phenolic band-aid notes. Some sweet apple and pear emerges also. Alcohol does not seem to detract.

Slick and slippery mouthfeel, but finishes a bit crisp.

Average drinkability, actually better than I expected.

7.3% abv is the only thing that makes this malt liquor worth it, if your trying to get a cheap buzz and a killer headache in the morning we used to drink this stuff on trips to Canada before legal age however there's nothing that special about it. Pours a golden fizzy tone with white head that dwindles quickly leaves decent lace. Aroma consists of alcohol and sweet grainy mix of malts and adjuncts, no real hop profile. Taste: Sweet grainy adjunct ridden with a touch of rustiness, leaves the palate wanting more no real hop bitterness malt liquor is malt liquor however this is a more tolerable rendition. Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a bit more consistency than most mass produced beers artificial carbonation bring on the belches. Drinkability well this beer has no real appeal to someone who really likes beer, however for the person looking for the gimmick of the high alcohol and doesn't know that XXX really stands for a Belgian style triple.

Appearance: Light golden color, head settles quickly leaving a very thin lacing.

Smell: Light, sweet smell.

Taste: Slightly metallic, bittersweet taste with minimal aftertaste.

Drinkability: Easy to become accustomed to the taste of this beer, it is farily light and goes down smooth enough.

Serving Type: Bottle.

Personal Note: I actually really enjoy Molson XXX. My rating is relatively low because in terms of beer, it's a bit wanting.

I drink this beer regularly (typically a case per week), and find that I've grown relatively fond of the taste of it.
I find that it's a great burger/grill food combination.

Lastly, at 7.3% ABV, I don't believe that you will find as light a tasting beer as this, with the same alcohol content.

Really, does anyone at Beer Advocate think any of the swill water beers are worthy? I've had all the molsons and all I can say is that if you're just looking for a basic beer without all the effort and let's face it, 'stuff' that ends up in a quality micro, this one is not bad at all. I can drink one or two without feeling full. It won't wow you, but it won't make you run for the mouthwash either. I'm surprised so many here feel it's so bad.
