Wow...a light beer with some actual taste. In the world of light beers, this one stands out, albeit slightly. Pours out to a light, golden color in the glass with some lively carbonation going on. Not much aroma-wise, with a hint of cooked veggies coming through. The taste is decent, bordering on good. There is a bit of hop bit on the swallow, which actually shocked me a bit. As good as Sam Adams Light and one of the better, if not best (if there is such a thing), interpretations of a light beer

Presentation: 11.5 oz brown twist off bottle, no freshness date to be found. 11.5 oz bottle, so for every case you buy that is about one 12 ounce bottle of beer missing.

Appearance: Perfect clarity with a very pale straw hue, one finger of foamy head struggles to stick to the glass.

Smell: Smells like a fresh light beer, very little hop and malt yet extremely clean.

Taste: Smooth with a plush crispness in the back, very light in the body department. Dry dextrin, cereal grain and malt husk. Bone dry palate and very very clean. Some watered down hop bitterness and flavour slides in middle to end. Virtually no taste in the finish.

Notes: All I would want in a light beer if I like the style. It holds a touch more flavour than most light beers and does not stray into any cooked veggie or odd corn aromas or flavours. If you like light beer this one might be for you.

12 ouncer w/o freshness indication. Pours very light straw, with a feeble white head, minor lacing noted. Faint nose of corn/rice. This is not gonna be pretty. Here goes...taste is watery, adjuncts, nasty in general. Lawn mower beer, at best. Something about this stuff tells me 2 or 3 would lead to a nasty headache. Pass this macro, water waster by.

The Moment: Catching up on NBC's Thursday programming tonight...
Glassware: Cleveland Browns pilsner...
Appearance: A more orange version of the pale Golden; similar effervescence...
Aroma: A pungeant doughy malty sweetness....
Palate: A bit mellow, and a much more bubbly, gassy experience...
Taste: Syrupy sweet, smooth malt finish with little to be done on the way down the throat; clean water, yes--mostly just water...
Overall: Not much of a difference between the Golden and the Light, save the gas and the simplicity of its taste profile; drinkable in vast quantities, but preferably in pong/asshole/regatta/flipcup engagements...

Molson delivers a pretty basic light lager in their Canadian Light. The golden body is a little bit darker than most, which is nice, and the head is a creamy bright white but it dissipates quickly as expected. The nose offers a bit of yeasty fruitiness and some sweet malt along with some floral hops - nice! In the mouth it offers a dextrinous medium-light body and a gently zesty carbonation. The malt is just slightly grainy; and it leans towards sweetness but never really gets there. It's surprisingly rich for a light beer, and actually offers more flavor than some of the standard price-point beers out there. The balance is nice, and the transition is smooth from malt into lingering floral and spicy hops amidst a mild bitterness in the finish. Hmmmm... actually pretty good in comparison to most light beers. Well done!

Admitting the possibility of over rating a bit, but I have fond memories of this beer. Cold and fresh from the tap, it is not that bad.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a very pale yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is very mild, slight hints of corn. Taste is crisp, basically flavorless, not really getting much of anything here. Feels watery in the mouth and is very drinkable due to it's lightness. Overall there is not much to this beer at all.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle marked DEC2709-07622NB. Sampled on August 28, 2009. SInce I am trying to lose weight I have been drinking more and more light beers and this one is actually pretty good as far as light beers go. The pour tends to be more golden yellow with a lot of foamy white head and excitable carbonation. The aroma is of barley, malts and a little grass. The mouthfeel is a tad heavier than many lights and in the medium range. The taste is has a nice balance of malts and a chaser of hops but not overpowering.

Poured a light straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and good lacing.

The smell featured faint adjunct malt and a slight grassy hop.

The taste was likewise subtle with a thin grainy malt, a slight sweetness and balancing hop.

The mouthfeel was toward the fuller side of the style.

Overall an above average macro light lager.
