Whiskey SourWhiskey Sour
Notes: We aged our natively fermented golden sour ale with lemons and limes on oak from regional distilleries. This process results in a tart, refreshing, and explosively citrus ale with subtle whiskey barrel character. This unique regional ale draws its acidity from a strain of lactobacillus isolated by SouthYeast labs from opuntia fruit and a blend of yeast strains captured from Clemson University's Musser Experimental Fruit Research Farm.

16.9 oz bottle, thanks bro- Pours hazy golden with minimal head. Aroma is fruity, whiskey sour. The taste is mouth watering sour, fruity and easy drinking. Tasty.

Light golden color; cloudy; very thin head. Strong aroma of sourness with some woody, boozy, apricot and peach notes. Tart and sour peach flavor; wet oak coming through; lemony. Medium body; tart with a sweet dryness for the mouthfeel.

This beer grew on me. My first impression wasn't too satisfactory but after letting the beer breath and allowing the beer to coat my palate, the fruity, boozy, woody notes seemed to meld into a very agreeable concoction. Very good...

A: Transparent straw color
S: Big lime, lemon, lactic, key lime yogurt, hint of bourbon and oak, whiskey sour-esque
T: Lime, lemon, medium tartness, lemonade, light acidity, oak tannin, watered down whiskey sour
M: Light
O: This is a summer crusher for sure. Would do better in 4/6 packs

I wish it was summer, I probably would rate this even higher. A sour ale modeled after a whiskey sour and I must say goal achieved. The low ABV and citrussy flavor are perfect for hot weather. But in the dead of Winter, it brings a bit of metaphorical sunshine. Bright, light and subtly bourbony , this is summer in a tulip glass.

Holy Moly Lemon zest and Bourbon! This is a phenomenal Sour from CB, beautiful bourbon notes and and the lemony zest is great. I haven’t had a beer from them that I didn’t like.

Poured into a Duvel tulip. No freshness date.

A- Pours a hazy dark golden color with a 1/4 inch white head that soon fizzes away to a paper-thin ring around the edge of the glass and some faint wisps of surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves tiny specs behind.

S- Bright, lively aroma of fresh lime, lactic acid and a hint of funk. Definitely smells like sour mix but there's not really any whiskey character.

T- Flavor continues with the sour mix element being pretty spot-on. Great citrus quality from the limes with plenty of tart character. Has a slight sweetness that's nice as well but I'm still not really getting any whiskey,

M- Dry with a moderate amount of pucker. Medium carbonation and a lightish body.

O- Very tasty though I could use some actual whiskey character. Either way, if this was at a lower price point, I'd be all over this stuff regularly in the summer months.

Another great beer. They frequently tap this (or some version of it) on Wednesdays for "Whiskey Sour Wednesdays" in the taproom. I've suggested this to friends who say they "don't like sour beers" and for people who like fruity stuff.

The flavor and mouthfeel are reminiscent of an actual Whiskey Sour - with the whiskey character coming from the barrels, the sour coming from the wild fermentation, and the citrus bite from the addition of fresh zest to the barrels.

This beer poors a little turbid. Medium carbonation. This is a nice low-gravity easy drinker. Perfect for hot summer days.
