12 oz. can poured into tight nonic
(9/8/17 born-on date printed on bottom of can)

L: gold-bronze, clear, small head of offwhite foam no more than 1/4-inch tall that dissipates quickly; keeps a thin but compete collar of beige foam

S: butterscotch, butter pecan ice cream with caramel sauce/hot caramel, peach, bread malt

T: peach, dried peaches, sweet ... tastes like there's honey in there; bread malt, sweet breads; earthy hop note in background

F: fantastic ... looks a bit flat but it's not, plenty carbonation to help it shuffle along nicely

O: it's a great beer, but is it a great ESB? no, it's too sweet from something, and I can't say for sure from what, possibly actual honey or maybe too much caramel malt or maybe too much malt takeover; whatever it is, it's sugary sweet at times. that being said, the can label *does say* "Honey" on it, and it does have a lot of the English pale ale fruity peach/bread malt flavor and at least a little earthy hop bitterness hanging around, so all in all, a big thumbs up for Spindletap's attempt at the British classic

On tap at the brewery.

A: Pours a slightly hazed orange color. A minimal, almost nonexistent white cap forms with no lace.
S: Slick and oily hops, sweet malts and an earthy like hop bitterness lingers. Not an ESB in any sense of the style, though not particularly bad.
T: Almost cloyingly sweet malts up front. I thought the "Honey Hole" designation was just for an oil field pun, but it seems like honey/sweeteners added to me . Besides that, this quickly moves to very light cereal grains, and a light resiny/oily and bitter finish.
M/O: A light body and not much carbonation. There is an oily/soapy character here that I am not a fan of as well. Really disappoint with this. This is not an ESB in any sense, and on top of which not something I want to come back to.

Below average, and hits no style points what so ever. I am not sure what they wanted to make here, but it is not an ESB.

As far as ESB's go, this is pretty damn good.

Not overly impressed with the honey hole and maybe it's more the style than me. Trying this one at Mojos Sports Bar and Grill in Hobble, TX. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving a nice lace. The scent reminds me of a dank basement. The taste borders a weak white wine. The Mouthfeel is lighter body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok.

A calmer taste. Second esb this week. So drinkable!

Poured hard from a 20 day old can. The beer has an orange color with a very small head which did not linger for more than a minute. The aroma is sweet, and maybe some hops on the very back end. The taste is freaking awful and it did not get better as I worked my way through the glass. I mainly taste alcohol, followed by sweet malts. One user here said it tasted like a white wine and I think that hits it on the head. It resembles a very big, unbalanced, non-buttery cheap white wine. The mouthfeel was cloying, slick and bitter. An absolute car wreck of a beer.
