Very Good
Farmhouse IPAFarmhouse IPA
Notes: An American farmhouse-style ale brewed with the IPA lover in mind. Big, bold, juicy hops join the dry, yeast driven saison flavor to create one of the most aromatic, undiluted hop experiences you can find.

Delicious farmhouse ipa. Very dry and estery. Hop profile is very floral and slightly citrusy. Tons of Belgian yeast character, Very complex, tons of clove and a light fruitiness. Just a rock solid farmhouse.

Light and easy. Feels more like a Farmhouse Ale, but has the little snap like an IPA. In fact, the can advertises it as a Belgian -Style Ale. Worth the taste to see if it hits your favorite list.

Pours a golden straw with clear translucence. An off-white rocky, foamy head sits on top, retaining well. Aroma is yeast esters, dark and stone fruit, clove, with herbal, citrus hops atop biscuity, bready malts. Very complex, with the dark and stone fruit forming the bulk of the nose. Flavor profile is clove, yeast, bready, biscuity, earthy, nutty malts and citrus and herbal hops. Citrus comes through fairly strong, making it the leader of the flavors. Mouth feel is a touch fuzzy, with a pillowy, soft texture. Thickness is right at medium. Overall, complex, but a little wishy-washy with the way it imparts notes.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegalau tulip from a 12oz bottle.

Very light colored yellow pour, small foamy head, no real retention but some lacing. Floral nose, very light with a great balance between the hops and yeast. Taste is like most hopped Belgian saisons and done rather well, some small bitterness on the finish. Body is medium and carbonation is average.

Quite good stuff, typically not a Belgian IPA fan, but this seemed more like a hoppy Saison.
Pale orange, saturated with a haze and ample creamy foam that left behind a halo of lacing.
Aroma is herbal, dried botanicals and pleasant dry hop character. Not really a hop bomb.
Taste is bitter with distinct Belgian yeast supporting the herbal hop character. Light spiciness from both elements.
Medium bodied, crisp and effervescent. Smooth feel, pleasantly bitter and snappy.
Really good, nice balance with interesting flavors that integrate well. Recommended.

after how good the kumquat was, i was searching all over the place to try more of their beer, and could not have been more excited to try this one, but it was a huge letdown for me, nowhere near as good as the kumquat, and truthfully, there isnt much farmhouse about it. its clear and deep golden in color, sporting a nice inch of white head, and looks quite bright in the glass. the nose is hoppy, fruity, and a little belgian from the yeast, but i dont even get a saison strain, let alone any brett or bugs in here. its too fresh for what its trying to be, too clean, too cleaned up, too refined you know? the hops are more bitter than flavorful, a little tropical note i suppose, but more grain weight and residual sweetness than i like in the style too. its a little fruity from the yeast, and a little spicy, definitely more belgian than anything else. not a bad beer, not at all, but its not what its advertised as, and i was definitely a little disappointed here. surprised its being reviewed so highly. it looks like they have a brett edition too, and thats exactly what this one needs...

A very well executed beer. There in the nose you get the blend of farmhouse, wet leather, wet hay, grass, citrus, and pine. The flavor of the beer matches perfectly with the nose. There is a little more bitterness then I was expecting but it plays well the the farmhouse flavors in the beer. Well done Crane. This one is worth getting if you like Belgian IPAs.

Bottled on 12-01-16, wish I had seen that sooner!

Pours an effervescent honey color with 2 fingers of pearl colored head. Hazes slightly, great lacing & good head retention

S: Rich breadyness, mango & papaya & a little fusel alcohol

T: Follows the nose, some pineapple & dryness up front. Pear, breadyness, some cloves & yeastiness as this warms, a little pineapple as well, some mango. Finishes dry with a little peach & mango, a little grapefruit & just a little farmhouse

MF: Light/medium body, slight carbonation, pretty good balance

Pretty good, easy drinking, will try again if I can find it much fresher

22oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, white head of foam. Aroma was fruity and yeasty with sweet caramel and pine. Spicy and fruity with toasted caramel and a piney bitterness.

Golden-orange, with light white head, ringing with each drink.

Somewhat dank, horsey, floral.

Floral, lavender, sweet like honey, dank to close.

Lingering sweetly, well-balanced carbonation.

Really very good - impressed with these guys out of the gate.

Pours a burnt orange color, very cloudy with a ton of bubbly white head. The smell is yeast up front with a floral hint at the back end. The taste is complex with a lot of flavors going on at once. There is a sweetness from the hops that sits on your tongue but you get all the flavors of a saison right before that. The mouthfeel is exactly what you'd expect from a farmhouse style beer. This is my first beer from Crane and I look forward to many more. A great addition to the Kansas City beer scene.
