Very Good
Notes: Named after our cat that passed way too soon, Omar is a take on the traditional english porter. The fruity esters compliments the notes of bitter chocolate, licorice, and a hint of caramel sweetness. Almost an acceptable substitution for snuggles with our sweet omar!

Pours an effervescent mahogany with 3+ fingers of fluffy mocha colored head ( vigirous pour. Pretty good lacing & head retention

S: Roasty, a little chocolate, some iron notes once warm

T: Roasty, iron & cocoa up front. More cocoa & iron as this warms, faint coffee notes as well. Finishes dry, roasty with just a little baker's chocolate

MF: Medium body, creamy carbonation

Solid Porter, good drinkability

Dark, black liquid with a thin tan head. The aroma is lightly smokey with some roasted notes. Underlying malt. Coffee. The taste is dry...a little sour note. Flavorful and medium in body. Okay.

Black in color with no light penetration. There's a fingernail of brown on top. The aroma is of dark chocolate and coffee. I'm tasting black coffee, dark chocolate, chestnuts, and caramel. The mouth is dense and dry.

Beautiful dark black pour with an angry red head of 2 fingers in my mini snifter.

Aroma of dark malts and cheesy yeast, slight coffee, metallic earth, and dark chocolate.

Flavor is earthy, roasty, charred, slightly chocolaty. I get silky dark chocolate to start, followed by metal shavings, imitation vanilla, earth, roasted grains, slight marshmallow, dark fruity coffee.

Feel is carbonated and roasty.

Overall, not great, but not terrible. Try it if you're curious or you like cats.

Pours black with a finger and a half of caramel-colored foam bubbling up on top. Head forms with huge bubbles that, unfortunately, pop and dissipate the head quickly. Aroma is toasted, roasted, and earthy malts with a hint of light caramel. Flavor profile is much deeper notes of toasted, roasted, earthy, and bready malts. There is a twinge of caramel, and toffee, but overall it's very malty. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a semi-harsh carbonation on the tongue. Overall, a dark and resilient porter that bodes well for lovers of malt. It has a dark complex of malts without being as dark, roasty, or heavy as an imperial stout.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 12oz bottle.

32oz growler. Poured out a jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of smoked meats, chocolate and toffee. Nice smoky flavor with chocolate, caramel and toffee. Good bitterness.
