Very Good
Notes: William Ray’s blacksmith shop became a landmark in the lost township founded on the Santa Fe Trail. Just as a blacksmith forges metal, we forge new trails in brewing. Connecting old traditions to modern ones and beyond. Our classic farmhouse saison is crisp, refreshing, and perfect for whatever of life’s trails you are on.

Pours an effervescent honey color with 2 fingers of eggshell colored head. No head retention or lacing

S: Grassyness, band-aids, cloves

T: Juicy-fruit & pears, plus dryness & grassyness up front. More dryness as this warms, white pepper & yeastyness as this warms. Extremely dry finish with grassyness & cloves

MF: Medium body, firm carbonation

Solid Saison, pretty representative of what you get from Crane

Look: Hazy gold with 1 finger white foam head that dissipated quickly.

Smell: Pear and that trademark Belgian Ale aroma, bubblegum.

Taste: Pear, Banana, Butter Scotch, with minimal hops.

Mouthfeel: Astringent, and refreshing.

Overall: A decent beer but I don't like the bubblegum smell that the Belgium beers give off.

This is a great beer, Pours a cloudy yellow and sets with a white head and a body that looks like champagne. The smell is of ripe citrus fruits and subtle fresh hops. The taste is Malty on the front, then a sudden burst of citrus. Then a fantastic, and somewhat lingering hop finish.

Fantastic beer.

Poured a cloudy/hazy, straw-yellow color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of lemon, yeast and toastiness. It had a nice spicy bite with yeasty notes, lemon and green apple.

another bangin brew from these cats, this one not so sour as most of their others. its a cleaner saison, light in body with a nice juicy dry hopped sort of nose and just a little tartness to it. a nice fairly familiar saison aroma, its not as far out as some of the strange fruited goses and berliners these guys are known for, but its just as well done as most of the others. pale in color and very active from the tap. the nose is great, and this seems dry hopped to me. with the wheaty golden base and the drying yeast, this is really easy drinking. a fresh citrus hop note, a little quick flash of tang to the finish, and a light white wine element from the yeast as well. lighter in body and well carbonated, this is the right feel for the style and a cool beer for summertime. someone told me once that the guy who makes all these beers doesnt even drink beer, which i find hard to believe, because all these are so interesting and well done, it would seem like tasting would be part of the process, but either way, these beers are getting better and better, and this is a nice new one from them!

12oz pour from the tap into a Crane tulip.

Pours a hazy orange with two fingers of white head foaming up top. Head retention is good, with fair lacing. Aroma is banana nut bread, cloves, and spices. The aroma carries some weight, and leans towards the sweet side. Flavor profile is sugary sweet, with notes of banana nut bread, cloves, and yeast spices. Mouth feel is a little fizzy, but otherwise medium-thick and filling. Overall, a delightful saison that does lean more onto the sweet side. Lots going on here.
