This double dry hopped pale ale contains the same base ingredients, for both malt and hops, as Fort Point Pale Ale, but with an additional dry hop of Citra. The added hops richly enhance the juicy tropical fruit flavors of pineapple/mango, create elevated green, herbaceous aromatics, and increase body.
MALT: American 2-row Barley, White Wheat, C-15, Dextrine
HOPS: Citra, Columbus

Hazy whitish orange color with a thick one-finger head that leaves some laces.
Delicious aroma full of stone fruits, passion fruit, green resin, pine, melon and tangerines.
Flavor with notes of green spicy resin, tangerine, passion fruit, mango, pine, onion, mild cantaloupe and dank. Dry and bitter aftertaste. No harsh whatsoever.
Medium body with perfect carbonation of tiny bubbles.
Excellent assertive NEIPA with lots of hop forward green spicy notes on a tropical citrusy base. Perfectly executed.

Picked up a 16 oz single can from the Hot Spot gas station cooler on NC-63 New Leicester Highway on 7-2-25 for $6.19. Canned 5-23-25; consumed 7-3-25.
Beer poured turbid golden orange with an okay white head that dissipated quickly.
Nose is very nice as i am getting a lot of stone fruit with some tropical and citrus fruits.
Taste is well done as well. The pale malt base presents a canvas for the hops and man they are tasty. Getting lots of peach to go with orange and some mango flavors. Finishes like an IPA with some rind and pine; 7/10 on my bitterness scale. Unfortunately, i am getting hop burn on the back end, deducting -.25 for this issue.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied; each sip is very soft and smooth.
Overall, a nicely done IPA!

03/28/25. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.
A: Moderately hazy gold with 2-finger frothy white head with excellent retention and bands of lacing down the glass.
S: Strong dusty polyphenol aroma with grapefruit, passion fruit, and orange citrus along with herbal honeysuckle. High-intensity with mild floral-fruity esters.
T: Flavor with plenty of orange, grapefruit, passion fruit, guava, along with earthy herbal notes. Bitterness is low. High intensity flavor with some polyphenol+malt character in the finish and aftertaste.
M: Medium-body with moderate carbonation and full finish.
O: DDH Fort Point IPA (now IPA not pale ale) is an exceptional beer. My first can must have been not the best as this one has explosive aroma and flavor. High recommended. Going to side by side it with DDH Pseudo Sue.

16oz can poured into a tulip glass.
Appearance:
Pours a dense, hazy golden-orange with a slight amber tint. The head is a fluffy white, about two fingers high, with great retention and thick lacing down the glass. Exactly what you expect from a NEIPA in terms of visual appeal—hazy, vibrant, and inviting.
Aroma:
Absolutely bursting with tropical fruit—mango, pineapple, guava, and sweet orange peel come through immediately. There’s a juicy citrus character layered with stone fruit and a subtle dank pine note underneath. The double dry hopping is evident—super fresh and saturated with hop aromatics.
Taste:
Juicy and fruit-forward on the palate with ripe mango, peach, tangerine, and melon. A light bready malt backbone supports the hops without getting in the way. There’s a touch of resinous bitterness near the finish that helps keep it from being cloying. Incredibly well-balanced for something so hop-saturated.
Mouthfeel:
Soft and creamy with a medium-full body. Moderate carbonation enhances the juiciness without making it overly prickly. Very smooth throughout—no harsh alcohol presence or astringency. Classic Trillium mouthfeel: plush and silky.
Overall:
Another standout from Trillium. Fort Point DDH is a showcase of hop expression—aromatic, juicy, and balanced with just enough bitterness to round it out. It’s easy-drinking but complex, and a prime example of what a double dry-hopped NEIPA should be. Trillium continues to set the bar in the hazy IPA world.

Very potent Citra hazy IPA with all the flavors and scents that Citra can bring. Weedy, oniony, garlicy, citrusy, dank notes. There is an off putting nature to the malt bill which screams lactose, although it isn't listed in the brewing ingredients. Dextrine? Nevertheless, a milk sugar like sweetness detracts from the overall experience. Overrated IMO

Pours a beautiful dense yellow colour.
Smell is quite particular, citrus, fruit. Not something I've smelled before, but very nice. Maybe some pineapple.
Taste is exactly the same.
No bitterness, and good mouth feel for the abv. Excellent stuff.
