Poured a clear amber brown in my seldom-used Maredsous long stemmed tulip glass. A head of ivory popped up, but quickly slid under the covers, leaving a thin lace ring.
Aroma was not bock at all, but adjunct lager - grainy and grassy. Quaff was more of the same. Finish was rough around the edges, not lager smooth by any means. Evening leaving a metallic note in the aftertaste.
I liked their Prairie Lager, but this one has me shaking my head.

355ml bottle, procured from the newbie Calgary brewing location's adjoining pizza joint.
This beer pours a clear dark cola amber colour, with two pudgy fingers of foamy, sort of creamy beige head, which leaves a broken wall of fuzzy cloud lace around the glass as it hastily recedes.
It smells of mildly roasted, somewhat nutty caramel malt, a bit of stony minerality, and very faint earthy, leafy hops. The taste is moderately sour, thin caramel malt, some stale bar top nuts, a bit of sugary moonshine alcohol warming, and musty dead earth hops.
The bubbles are pretty inert, and hardly noticeable, the body medium-light in weight, and smooth with a tacky add-on. It finishes nearly sweet, the strangled caramel malt aided by an emerging stale orchard fruitiness.
A mostly plain and yet serviceable bock - though the edginess is just a bit too much - and the slight off-flavours are thusly accentuated. Not entirely undrinkable, just another wholly unremarkable rebranding, it would seem, this brewery's 'specialty'.

I poured a bottle into a mug.
Appearance- Clear dark brown in color with a finger and a half of very light tan head. Almost no lacing.
Smell- Toasted bread and grain.
Taste- Sweet caramel malt flavor dominates with some nuttiness and toasted bread flavor showing up about mid-sip.
Mouthfeel- On the light end of medium bodied and well carbonated.
Overall- An easy to drink beer but not what I would consider a "traditional" bock beer.

A - pours surprisingly dark, a little darker than the color of Newcastle. Very minimal, creamy white head.
S - for me, the smell of this beer was very song. When it was sitting on the end table next to me, the aroma was reaching me from a few feet away. All I smell is cream.
T - other reviews on here say that this beer has a metallic taste like other Berghoff beers but I don't get it as much with the Bock as I do with the Berghoff Octoberfest or Dark Ale. I taste the cream that was in the smell, as I drank the beer more I picked up a roasted, candied nut taste. This is a sweetish beer.
M - pretty carbonated in the beginning, a watery syrup as the beer is drank.
D - very easy to drink, planning on having a few more after this review

It has a dark opaque body with a thick soapy head made up of small bubbles. It smells roasted and a little metallic. The taste is mainly metallic with some sweet caramel malt and a bit of hops. It is very thin and overall this beer is less than average.

A traditional bock is, by nature, highly malted. And well, this
no-nonsense beer certainly fits that description. At the same time,
the malt presence here seems to overload my taste buds at the expense of any other flavors. Pouring a deep brown/amber, Berghoff's bock initially has a simple, rich caramel taste which permeates every subsequent sip. I sense no complexity, and this one-dimensional brew just doesn't cut it with me.

This beer poured a murky brown with a white foamy head that faded very fast. Okay, for a cheap beer, this is "not bad." By no means does this remind me of a traditional bock. It lacks the complex malt flavors, slightly hopped, and mouthfeel of a good bock. The smell is very faint, I almost pick up a little licorice. This beer does not taste bad, but it just lacks the complexity of a bock. It is an easy drinking beer. This is a darker lawnmower beer.

On the recommendation of one of my wife's co-workers, I tried this beer. This stuff rocks! A fair price makes me come back for more, and IMHO, it's not too bad for a U.S. Bock type of beer. Hard to find where I live, and the store sells out of it as quickly as it arrives. I alway's call ahead to be sure they have some in stock.
