More like extra dark chocolate with the bitter acidic traits of a really dark coffee. Not bad but not great. Drinkable but doesnt make leave me wanting more.

The bottle is 11.16 oz, not 12 like all beers, that's some serious bullshit, and they need to be called out on trying to trick us into thinking it's a normal size beer. Here's my favorite review "This beer is all over the place, just so many faults. The worst of these is the horrible, cloying aftertaste that resembles vinegar mixed with cigarette butts. Avoid at any price." It may not be that bad, but I do agree with the "cigarette butts" notes. The bottle also says "loaded with chocolate flavor." Note, not chocolate itself. They might as well say, "loaded with the cheapest flavor substitutes we could find." Good God.

Poured from 330ml bottle into glass. Stamped on bottle neck is '18 29615'. Contract brewed at Minhas Craft Brewery.
Pours a dark brown body, with a minimum of dark brown highlights when presented to light. Creamy light tan head. Just a few spots of lacing left behind.
Dark roasted malts for aroma, with hint of chocolate.
Taste is chocolate with roasted malts. Total taste is kind of rancid, kind of sour. Not pleasant.
Thin mouth feel. After taste is cocoa.
Poor experience with this beer. Contains some flavors, but not well put together. No reason to drink again.

Poured from 33-cl bottle into a clear glass mug. Pretty deep blackish-brown color, with a ruby highlight or two. Aromas and flavors of dark roasted malt, espresso bean, and dark cocoa, with a hint of tart black cherry. The mouthfeel is lighter than one might expect from a stout. Good carbonation, slightly but not overly sweet, with some roasty bitterness and a touch of dark fruit on the finish. This turned out to be quite a pleasant surprise, as my expectations of this brewery were not high. Although the chocolate seems to have faded a bit, it is still very tasty and very drinkable. Much better at slightly above fridge temperature.

L: deep dark brown, bright around the edges blanketed by 2" of light tan foam with a very fine bead. Retention is fair
S: grainy chocolate smell with some biscuit, and a trace of coffee.
T: Restrained chocolate flavors lead to a drying, grainy slightly astringent finish.
F: very creamy with a medium full body and medium carbonation.
O: well balanced but is middle of the road and lacks excitement

This was, uh, an adventure. I'll pre-face this by stating that this beer seems to promulgate a difference between the taste of quality, and enjoying the taste of something. It tasted like the cheapest of lagers mixed with a backwash of instant coffee and a very strong aftertaste of the bitterest of chocolates. Thankfully for it, I love instant coffee and dark chocolate, so, I reveled in the overall experience. Still, I wouldn't recommend it to most. I'm surprised Minhas is such a large brand.

Honestly didn't know what to expect..but this beer is very drinkable. For the price i paid i actually enjoyed it. Kinda light bodied for a stout, but the cocoa taste isnt overwhelming. Enjoying it on a 81 degree april day makes it even better

Appearance: Pours nearly black, with little suds and no lace.
Aroma: Cocoa, in a good way.
Taste: More cocoa up front, with some burnt malts near the finish. This is a decent and very drinkable beer that’s not too chocolatey to be as gimmicky as it sounds. Solid cocoa stout that I’d gladly drink again.

Pours dark brown with only a little light shining through when held up to a light. Fairly thick head that receded rapidly. Very light aroma of chocolate and soy. Taste is soy sauce and cocoa powder. Very light in the feel and over carbonated for a stout in my opinion. Not a fan.

Pours an opaque dark brown color with khaki colored head. Chocolate and a light roast on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with cocoa and roast. Not bad for a stout, but overall enjoyable to drink.
