330ml bottle. This has been released under the Mountain Crest label, usually reserved for we lucky customers up north of the 49th parallel. An inexplicable "Italian Style Beer", if we are to believe the marketing pap.

This beer pours a somewhat hazy medium golden straw colour, with one finger of thin, fizzy, bubbly bone-white head, which leaves a few RNA strands of molecular lace around the glass as it very quickly hies it outta town.

It smells of sweet, sugary malt - corn and rice, mostly, with that same old grape soda chemical essence that is like a litmus test for anything from this brewery, and a bit of dead leafy hops. The taste is sweet, grainy pale malt - more breakfast cereal than barley-sourced normality, placid herbal, dead leafy hops, and a chaser of that distinctive PVC pipe evocative, inherent Minhas house character - I really have no other way to describe it - even though it taints everything they make.

The bubbles are at least alive and somewhat frisky, the body medium-light in weight, and cloying in its otherwise special-needs smoothness. It finishes still quite sweet, the soul-expired graininess and nail polish remover-tinted, out of place alcohol colluding to offend me on just one broad level, I suppose.

Another (or the same, really) Minhas lager, gussied up with some exotic beer allusion, which is often actually delusional, as it is here. What the fuck? A demurely hot redhead posed on a Vespa on the label renders this as 'Italian' style? Really? And don't get me started on the 'Birra-Beer' sub-text, which offends me on another more specific level. Not worthy, not even bloody close.
